I am trying to get familiar with the new scenario editor on a Port Road scenario. Can someone tell me:
1) Why will my train not route correctly? I am trying to get a class 37 and coaches go from Dumfries Plat 2 to Maxwelltown and on to Kirkcudbright. I have two trains, both clearly routed: the first is an AI from south of Dumfries, stopping at the station Plat 3 and continuing up the Nidd Valley towards Glasgow. The second is my train that departs after the Glasgow express to Kircudbright. Both routes are totally independant of each other, they both show correctly in RED in the new timetabled (?) scenario editor and my routing is clearly listed. When I start the scenario, the line from Platform 2 is firmly and wrongly set to Glasgow and the signals clear for the main as the AI train clears the sections. I want to go to Kirkcudbright!!!
2) I have load instructions set for the AI train. It stops at platform 2 correctly but the doors do not open. Do AI trains not load passengers?
3) I see from key 9 that my route is no longer shown as a blue line, and siding and platform markers are no longer displayed. I appreciate that these functions have been taken over somewhat by the new timetabled (?) scenario editor but, having used it to create the scenario, should these functions be disabled??

Re: Help with routing
Hello there, I'll try to help
1. Are you starting the scenario from the editor ? This doesn't always produce the results you might expect, especially with regards to signalling. Best is to come back out of the scenario and reload it.
2. AI trains should load passengers. Make sure you are using the pick-up passengers instruction and not the stop-at instruction.
3. Had that happen to me today when I was working on a scenario. In the 2D map, click on the little monitor icon in the bottom right corner. You will probably find that the 'missing' functions have been de-selected. There have been reports of RW doing this before.
Regards,
Malcolm.

Re: Help with routing
Spot on! Came out, back in a bingo. Its odd though that the route stays set to the Nidd Valley line until 2 seconds before departure time when it switches to the desired route. Cant see the logic in that.1. Are you starting the scenario from the editor ? This doesn't always produce the results you might expect, especially with regards to signalling. Yes, it is definitely a pick up instruction. The train stops at the platform but the doors dont open.2. AI trains should load passengers. Make sure you are using the pick-up passengers instruction and not the stop-at instruction.
Spot on again!! All features now enabled.3. Had that happen to me today when I was working on a scenario. In the 2D map, click on the little monitor icon in the bottom right corner. Thanks, Malcolm.
