Timetabled?

Post by bab7000 »

Just wanna know, if i'm the only one having problem creating a timetabled stop for a player train.

Have any of you problem with longer stops at stations? I tried to make a stop for 3 minuts, but it turns green after about 30-40 secs. There's no problem with AI trains.

Yes, this is an old problem _ the AI is fine, but unfortunately the player trains shuts all his doors after about 30secs.

i set up a timetabled run the port road v3 starting at dumfries going all the way to kirkcudbright, scenario starts at 3mins to the hour and the driver is ordered to open his doors and load the passengers for a start on the hour, the train stops at all stations with a 1min stop at each.

the first goes fine, a few seconds to the hour the doors close and the driver can set off at the hour, first station goes well but after that at each station the doors seem to close earlier and earlier, by the end of the scenario it can be getting upto 40-50 seconds earlier, nothing to stop the driver from waiting for the departure time but it does feel more realistic when the doors stay open till departure,

cheers

Lets hope they fix it.

And shouldn't arrival times be fixed instead of dynamic? I do know, that it shows what time the train will arrive, but in a timetabled it should be the time, the train should arrive?

Timetabled is useless until it's fixed, because you cant expect a user to wait for the correct time to depart, when the doors is shut.

Kuju certainly had dificulty in understanding the difference between arivals/departures!! :) Either way, in real life, if my train was early arriving at a station, then it would be held until the scheduled departure time, and people would be allowed to board the train during this time.

Exactly, and it should be a minor problem, because it works for AI. The code is right, but need something for the player train.

I've been making an activity recently where there is a 4 minute wait at Didcot. The player doors stay open for the full four minutes.

Remember to tick the timetable box in properties window in scenario editor.
The go ahead lamp then stays red until a few seconds before departure.
It would seem, that F3-popup displays the departure time rather than the currently expected arrival - as would make sense.

Is that from in the cab, or on the platform, or doesn't it matter? Also the hud - stays on red?

Doesn't matter if you are in the cab or not. The HUD shows red until departure time. I suspect if its not working you havn't set the passenger pick up as timetabled as trainsmit has said

Right, thanks for that. My RW computer went down pre-update, and it certainly didn't do it then.

Do you mean the timetable button when you are choosing the type of scenario at the beginning of a Scenario or is there some other button when you are already into the creative operation. I wish to make the player train if it is running early to wait until the correct departure time. Any help would be appreciated.
