nice models. are you doing them actual size or enlarging them?
Be interesting if it's possible to make an N gauge layout in RW. could have a set at a station to play with between dutys lol.

What a fantastic model, whether its a functional or static, it will bring in a huge amount of atmosphere in routes for such a small train.

Well there is a cracking 7 1/4 inch railway in Swindon at Coate Water, which we normally manage to incorporate in our Sunday walk when I'm not working - though don't always ride it. Would be a fascinating (and quick to build) project for RW but in addition to the locos and rolling stock we're going to need the track system and cut down signals etc.
Or for the really expansive...there's always Train Mountain in the USA.

I made them to the actual size, they where based on a few mesurements and photos that i have. An as for the N gauge idea i think i might me a bit to small for railworks

I am planning to make a small fiction route for them, and hopefully some small colour light and some small semaphore signals, also i am thinking about making some track like they have at West Huntspill (
http://www.highbridgelocoworks.com/page8.htm)
Some Work In Progress, i have the passanger coaches in the game ;D
Im having a problem with texturing the track, my textures seem to be all bunched up at one end, and when i tryed putting one of those texture checker things on it it didnt help. Anyone go any ideas on how to set up the textures.

I had a similar problem and I think I solved it by adjusting the collison boxes and/or coupler settings.
Great idea and nice models!

On the subject of miniature railways, I was shocked to discover that Dobwalls in Cornwall had closed down. One of those places I always intended to visit but never got round to.
The other thing that astonished me was how expensive some of the equipment costs. One site I looked at indicated the Dobwalls locos were auctioned off with a book/reserve price of £50k each. An American site selling gasoline powered outline diesel locos wants in the region of $14k for a basis model - without any frills or enhancements. Definitely a rich man's/lottery winner's hobby so if we can replicate it virtually, so much the better.

Hi there
Quite a coincidence, I'm a member of the club that runs the Coate Water Miniature Railway. If you like I could get some reference photos as a starter?

Dobwalls was great but now is unfortunatly is closed now, it would be excellent if someone made it in Railworks.

Dobwalls is some of my favorite childhood memories. I started trying to build it in railworks when I first got it but didnt get too far....maybe I will have another go sometime. I was originally trying to build it as a full size (4ft 8.5) gauge for ease of motive power / track / terrain. Detailing could be tricky though.

This looks great! I was thinking of attempting something similar my self so now I can see that it can be done.
As for Dobwalls, was a fabulous railway even if I only went there many years ago and can barely remember it! I believe that the engines have started a new life in Australia!
The mentions of the swindon track, is this is same swindon track that is to host this years 7 1/4 agm?
