Class 317 to Class 150?

Hi Guys,

As Part of the team creating the Transpennine Route, me and another member of the team are attempting to convert the class 317 to run as a fake class 150 DMU, in order to provide more "realistic" stock.

So far, we have had little success and i was wandering if any memebers of the community who know more about fiddling with bin files and this sort of thing knew if converting an emu to a dmu is possible by just editing the bin file, or if the blueprints of the model also have to be changed?

If me and my fellow TPR member can get this to work, we will hopefully be able to realse it to the community, providing another (although slightly unrealistic) peice of stock for everyone to use :)

Any suggestions or ideas welcome :)

Thanks

Josh

Apologies Josh. You PMed me a while ago - I was going to reply, but I'm afraid it completely slipped my mind (something to do with my advancing years).

It is possible to use the 317 meshes in a diesel hydraulic definition. You will need to clone the 317 engine blueprint and change the simulation file reference to point to a diesel hydraulic simulation blueprint. I also think you need to add a diesel fuel cargo definition to the engine blueprint (if this is missing I think it causes a crash).

I'm afraid it'll probably be a bit frustrating because errors/mismatches will almost certainly cause a "something bad" - but keep at it - the more tricky it is the more satisfied you feel when you get something working in the game! Good luck!
