Pete

Many thanks for the excellent model. Tried out the scenario supplied with the Q1 and it looks great. A superb piece of work.

One again many thanks

Hello Pete,
many thanks for your model, and especially for your very fast reply. I'm afraid I can't try the engine right away, because if I did I'd need some matches to keep my square eyes open at work tomorrow/today. But I'm sure an explore run will be the first thing I do when I come home.

Keep on steamin'!

... after having to use my PC for some work and after the end of the family part of the evening I took the coal to its destination. I drove the train in view #2 all the time to enjoy watching the engine work. The trip was just the right thing to finish the day. The next for me to do will be having a look at the other engines in the pack, and dealing with the numbering. Concerning this topic the fine docs coming with your engine are a great help for me as a newbie. So I'm looking forward to more fun with your Q1.

Keep on steamin'!

Do you need IOW installed to be able to run Leafy Suburbs?

Hi Jos

You do need IoW for Leafy Suburbs, but Pete's Q1 works perfectly fine without it. :D

That is good news, however these RW UK (and US) special offers are normally not available for people living in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. I cannot verify if this is the case here as well right now (being on a work computer), and have not seen this offer under 'news' in railsimulator.com but I fear this same little irritating RW game of not making offers available to everybody worldwide applies again here.

but thanks Bob for letting me know.

Hi

This is Karma99's post from several pages back:
Ok, I'm pleased to say that the Q1 is ready for release.

Now although it's not payware, it's not exactly freeware in the normal sense either.
Let's call it "communityware". Meaning, if you're a member of this community and you contribute, then you're more than welcome to it.
Now contribution isn't just those who make things, it's also those who post thanks and encouragement, take screenshots and those who keep the whole place ticking along with advice and friendly words.

Over the past few months I've built a pretty comprehensive ignore list of those who seem to take complaining and whining to a special kind of level, in my opinion.
So the simple method of distribution for the Q1 is to send me a PM (no need to write an essay, I'll have enough to deal with as it is, just let me know you want it). I'll send you a download link and a password, and I hope you'll enjoy using it as much as I did making it.
The only proviso I ask is that you don't distribute it further, otherwise the next release will be kept completely private.

I've cleared out some space in my inbox, although a couple of dozen posts of thanks is pretty much the maximum for a release and also I can probably name the 50 main users of this part of UKTS so I'm not expecting it to fill up.

Obviously I have a life to live (no, I really do!) so don't expect an immediate response, and please be patient. If you've not heard anything in a few days, well maybe check your posting history.

So have at it :D
Any feedback, etc please continue to use this thread

Cheers

Bob

UPDATE:

The Q1 will be released on UKTS some time over the next few days.
It will be EXACTLY the same as the version already given out on request so if you have it, there's no need to get it again.

I'd like to take this chance to thank all of those who recieved the loco to this point for being contributing members of UKTS. You really are the encouragement and inspiration that keep things moving.

I'll definitely have to give the Q1 a spin tomorrow, when the download list has reduced a little! Have always wanted a Q1 in simulations, tthis one looks like a healthy edition to Railworks!

Hi all

Assuming the UKTS upload also includes the S&D scenario for me to play straight out of the box, there's a good enough reason to download this one after all, and in the meantime, surely there's somewhere Southern-esque and smallish that I'll consider on which to run this amazing model, or I'll have to try a generic Southern branch.

Top work Pete :)

Cheers chaps :)

The UKTS upload includes the model with all 3 texture variants, the cab sound patch from this thread and the Coal to Shepton scenario (500 tons up that killer S&D gradient), plus the pdf file and image with instructions to set up the head/shed codes.

I would also recommend grabbing Bob's excellent scenario from a few pages back.
