Southern/BR Q1 Class

Fire up your 3D modelling tool and start building some rolling stock, or find out what others are previewing here. If you have questions about how to make the blueprints work or what names mean what in models, here's the place to find out your answers.

Other than that brilliant.

Hi guys, thanks for the kind words, glad you're enjoying it.

My first instinct is that it's a "by product" of using the 7F cab and the Black 5 sounds. The 3 items listed may well have slightly different names in each model/soundset and so the audio isn't being triggered correctly. When I get a chance I'll try swapping the sounds to the 7F set and see if that fixes it.. I'm "trying" to avoid any modelling related work for the remainder of the week as I'm still off work, I've actually been driving some scenarios today - although techincally it's still beta testing for someone!
If the 7F sounds swap works I can provide an optional patch for people.. honestly neither sound set is particularly close to the real thing.

Extra: Ok, couldn't resist a quick look before I go out, and the blower should work (does the 7F have Blower audio to start with? If someone could check for me that would be very helpful) however the other 2 have different ElementName's in the xml so I am 99% sure that's the issue.

Hi Pete -- get back to holidaying! :P

Very quick check and yes, the 7F does have an in-cab (I couldn't tell if there was an external) sound when you open/close the blower.

As an aside (and confirming what others have mentioned elsewhere) I also noted that the input-mapper (on the 7F) is broken as SHIFT-N doesn't close the blower and I had to use the mouse to turn it off.

All the best,

Rik.

Rik,

If you've got Sly's Breakdown Crane installed did you read this post http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 1#p1316374 ? The cure, for me at least, for the allegedly broken input-mapper is in there.

Well :-?

Sorry guys, I've tried various things from swapping for the 7F sounds to changing the element names, nothing. I have no idea why those specific sounds are missing.
If anyone wants to have a play and report their results please do, but I'm stumped... stupid sim :x

Cheers Danny :)

Ok chaps, good news!
Thanks to Mark Pullinger we have fully working cab audio. Mark found where I had stupidly left out the entire "Cab Sound" child section of the engine blueprint
I've added it to all 3 versions and we now have blower, firebox doors and shovelling, and the patch can be found here... http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/badkarma/RS/ ... %20Fix.rwp

Thanks again Mark :)

Works fine now, thanks both for that.

I look forward to your next masterpiece, you could show some of the payware people how to get things correct with some of the problems with their stuff, yours only had that issue, look at the problems elsewhere with other products that they a long time take time to fix.

I think you should charge for future things,
Whats next ?
