For many years I've wanted to build the Marches Line in some form of simulator and I'm trying it yet again. I've tried it once in Trainz and it failed due to boredom. I'm trying it again in Railworks and with the amazing inbuilt DEM ability among other things I hope this might actually work.
Obviously this is my first attempt at anything properly in Railworks so no doubt it will be improved as I go along. I plan to build the route from Newport (Gwent) and the link with the SWML up as far as Shrewsbury. That'll see it covering two countries and four counties. So far all I've done is the track layout and a small amount of the platforms at Newport, over the Usk as far as junction of the Marches and SWML. So here's some images...
