I'd like a bit of advice from someone who's had this particular problem before, and knows how to avoid this in the future. You have a siding system with automatic points, a factory, and close-by signal box that oversees operations in all directions. You make a scenario for this siding area, with a train shunting the sidings, and you send a loco to the "Siding B" to drop off 10 wagons, uncouple, and run forward to the "Engine Stop" marker, before reversing back to the siding next to the previous one to pick up some milk wagons, but, the automatic points seem to change to the other siding BEFORE the locomotive reaches them - WHY does this seem to happen, before the red timing bar completes it's movement from left to right ? I thought the points moved at the end of the timer's travel across the screen. Is there a way to delay this occurrence ? (Thanks, by the way, for any answers.)

Re: A question relating to automatic points...
Hi,
When you are in the scenario you should be telling the loco/train to do this. This is a basic shutning scenario:
1) Drop off 32546,32673 etc. at Siding No. 8
2) Stop at Engine Stop
3) Drop off 87632,98724 etc. at Siding No. 3
4) Stop at Engine Stop
You catch my drift, and then have the final destination as to where you will be ending up when the scenario ends - make sure ou put a stop at/pick up passenger at your final destination or the scenario may end as soon as you get to the marker.
Need any more help, just ask

Hi, and thanks for the info ! The on-going problem still seems to persist, somehow. What I do, when I instruct the loco to pick up wagons in siding "HJN-2" firstly, by adding the wagon numbers, THEN I have to place a destination at the top of the small window, to go to next, which is siding "HJN-1" for more to add to the consist, before going to, and stopping at the entrance to the siding, then heading along the Breskerr branch, to the final destination, and thus ending the scenario.crosscitytrains wrote:Hi,

Somehow or other, when I add the next destination to the top , after adding wagons to the "Add to back" or "Add to front" command, the next command in sequence does not come up, but appears to stay the same. Is there no way to just add the "Stop At" command, so to cause the wait bar to appear, and move across the HUD ? The "Add to back" command seems to stop the "wait bar" to not occurr, unless I'm mistaken. And also prevents the change to next command - again, unless I'm my brain is scrambled. The whole scenario appears to be done properly, and causes no error, so I can save it properly, and proceed with the scenario, but the "next-in-sequence" command fails to appear, if you can really follow me here - I KNOW it appears hard to work out, but I'm sure it's not doing what I want the train to do. Thanks again for the offer of assistance. Cheers.

Re: A question relating to automatic points...
Hi,
Your problem is rather peculiar, I have done a shunting scenario to test out Railworks 3s AI shunting and a player AI and it worked fine for me on auto points too.
The only thing I can think off that is causing the points to change may be that you're supposed to be going forwards with your train instead of back.
You could also try instead of the add to back option try the add to front.
Also, in the scenario editor, if you go into the 'Timetable view' then that will show you the path the train will be taking, you might find the error lies somewhere in there and that you aren't getting pathed correctly. Remember the 'Timetable view' is basically the scenario editor only you can't place trains or a driver icon - I make my scenarios in the timetable view so much easier to see everything and I can fix errors before I play the scenario because it will warn me with a little red X in a circle.
We can fix this! We can
Cheers,
Jason
