Hi
That does look promising.
Back up your RailWorks/Contents folder frequently or just your route folder within the Contents folder (use RWTools to identify which folder is your route)
Use the in-game save function when you have completed a section that you are happy with, or exit and go back into the editor.
Be aware that a problem might have occurred out of your view so your back ups may be backing up a mistake. Regularly check around your route for any unexpected faults.

You can also use the 'Localisation' tool that comes wth RW. It is the right button on RW startup screen.(use RWTools to identify which folder is your route)

Re: Where to start? Tutorial?
Another problem I have is that my starting station is below ground level as shown here:

Only God (and a few people on here) knows how I am going to get my station area below street level.
Theres a retaining wall separating the street from the station and a small tunnel under the station building.

Hi
It can all be done, but not in a day.
The decals help to place track and buildings but it might be better to turn them off after reference assets have been placed and just try building up the area from the assets available.

I see what you mean. The decals kind of make it all look a bit hectic sometimes.
I wish the terrain tools were a bit easier to use though.

Re: Where to start? Tutorial?
Hello all.
I'm still slowly learning about route building. How important is it to have track gradient information for making a real world route? Where is this information available from?
I'm finding cuttings, embankments and gradients to be confusing.

Gradient information is sometimes hard to find and is not always freely available. You can quite often find gradient books on places like Ebay for a reasonable price though, many route builders on here have taken advantage of this.
