Disapearing Objects

Hello all,

Over the last few weeks I have noted that various objects in my route go walk about. At first I notice the odd signal post was missing I noted the position and deceided to correct this problem later assuming I had missed putting them in when the signal was set. Later I noticed that various cattle pens were partly gone and also some signal boxes.

When I tried to replace the Items the missing on appears so yo have two delete on save whilst you are in editor mode its still there, go to a scenario its gone. There also seems to be something else very odd that is various trees seem to be gone but when you are in editor and move the cursor over the area where the tree was it appears only to disapear when you move the cursor away.

Thinking about this it may be that this started when the new version of the software was issued. I also considered a virus had entered my machine but I have Nortons and do regular checks on the machine and have every firewall set up.

Has anybody any views on this.

Thanks
Kevin99

Some assets (the pens, chain link fencing) didn't function correctly in RW3 but have since been updated to fix. It may also just be settings - some assets don't always reappear after editing the route and you have to reload.

If you think you've had a virus, verify cache to check you're not missing anything.

I am also experiencing this phenomenon, in particular with vegetation assets. In normal use, some bushes and tree-lines I am sure I have placed are no longer rendered in the game. Thinking that I must have been mistaken, I go into World Editor to replace them. But when I move the cursor to the area where I originally thought I had placed an asset, it suddenly reappears and can be selected with the cursor. But as soon as I move the cursor or de-select the asset, it disappears again. The only solution is to delete the disappearing asset and replace it with the same asset selected from the asset panel. It is only since TS2012 upgraded RW2 that I have seen this strange behaviour. Unfortunately, this is happening quite frequently in my Dublin-Cork route which has a fairly dense level of vegetation. Up to now I have assumed that it was my problem as I cannot run the route with TSX on except at the lowest graphics level (though I have scenic items at 10). If others are experiencing this an e-mail to RW support may be in order.

Because of the many problems I am experiencing with 2012 World Editor, including the one described above, I have reverted to using the World Editor from the original RailSimulator and then copying the relevant content files from the RailSimulator folder to the TS2012 folder.

hi guys
it mite be worth checking the detail slide bar is set to 10. its now linked to your graphic settings and will be set lower than 10 if your not running in full graphics settings. it will also reset its self to the lower value every time you load up the editors. it can however be adjusted in your graphic settings.

If anyone is having genuine problems, including after setting the detail sider to 10, make sre that RSC are notified. There are a few topics that have recently cropped up that have strange phenomena.
