Hi pingmaster

The very simple answer to the question is no. It can't be done unless both routes had exactly the same starting point when they were first set up.

Quite a few people (myself included) have spent quite some time trying to make it work but the bottom line is that it doesn't.

Cheers

Bob

It still will not work, as Bob has said, they have to have the same starting point. Bristol to Exeter actually never started in Bristol.

Hello,

A question if i may of a similar topic. Is it possible to extend a payware route and be able to share with others who also have the payware. Or is this simply not worth the hassle it could bring with activities etc?

It would be illegal without permission form the copyright owner, but yes it would be possible with the exception of maybe breaking some scenarios.

Thanks for the answer. I think i'll leave that one alone as i don't want to get into copyrights etc.

Cheers...

Hi

The 'Snap to Track' is for joining two lofts togheter and not for making embankments. To make a embankment use the 'Magnet' tool in Terrain tools. You can also offset 'Grass Bank Loft'.

Both IoW Network and my Falmouth GWR route are effectively extensions of RSC payware routes. Naturally one should ask permission, as I did, but the precedent is there.

But can you just edit the route on it's own with the edit tool in the rail works menu

My comment relates to modified routes that you intend to make public as freeware. You can do what you like if it's for your own use - but to keep the original intact you should first make a copy (clone) of the original and modify that version. To do that start the game, select Editor, select the route and then Clone Route.

The publishers, or route author would be a good place to start?

Hi again I have made up my mind of route making of editing the Oxford to padding ton to Bristol temple meads with out joining two routes together but this is my first time of building such a big route but where do I start and how do I get all the right scenery at the correct parts of the route and how do I create new assets.
