Only need the Wensleydale railway, Tyne Valley and Boulby potash line and think that'd be the whole North East covered, happy driving days to come :D

I can't believe I've only just discovered this thread, me being from Teesside like.

I was wondering what happened to your Saltburn route and although I realise you've had a lot of other stuff on your plate, I'm happy to see it is going ahead, albeit in a different form.
Middlesbrough is instantly recognisable from the screenshots and the Newport bridge is looking excellent ( I might have to borrow that for my Stockton route)

I'm amazed and delighted that there are so many NE routes up and coming. Rather aptly, the Northeast is known as "the cradle of railways".

Somebody has already suggested doing Saltburn to Boulby mine. I think that would be a great little route, very scenic and with a decent variety of traffic from the mine and Skinningrove iron works. Perhaps with a fictional passenger service to add interest.

Also , Darren, I noted the screenshots of Marton so I assume you are going up the Esk Valley line at least as far as Nunthorpe?

Again, great work!
Kevin

Evening Kev, it was never in danger of falling by the wayside really, I guess we are in a similar boat and want to reproduce some form of either where we are originally from or live now.

You assume correctly about the Esk Valley as well, the plan is to release a version 1 with that line as far as Nunthorpe, as far east as Redcar and west to Thornaby. It should then all branch out where necessary from there.

And of course you are welcome to the Newport Bridge, although it is a million miles behind the models you can achieve!

So eventually it will be possible to drive all the way from Saltburn to Eastgate using 3 different routes.
It would be fun to have scenarios that picked up where the previous one left off, using the same rolling stock.

The texuring on your Newport bridge looked pretty good to me, just needs a little more weathering.

Regards,
Kevin

Indeed it will, it's nice that we are well covered really.

The texturing was actually just a simple 512x512 green metal base coat, applied to the whole structure other than the road deck and chains but even that has given it a worn feel. I'll tinker with it a little further, but probably won't go too overboard, it is just a big green hulk after all.

Its working very well with basic texturing.
Sadly, you no longer have to bother building Thornaby TMD.

Well, I am going to actually take it back slightly and base the route a couple of years ago before the bulldozers move in, it's nice to have a large TMD as a focal point I feel. That, coupled with Middlesbrough Goods and all of the Lackenby, Wilton and Teesport areas should provide plenty of shunting opportunities! It's quite amazing how much track still exists.

Been looking on Google Earth and can't believe how much track there still is around Wilton and Lackenby. If you need any photos of the area just give us a PM would be more than happy to help. Great work as always :-)

You're not alone Kevin, I've only just discovered this thread.
Lots of interesting places I'm familiar with Darren, and an excellent rendition from yourself. :P
