Blueprint Editor: File not found

So i've got my DEM data into my route, i now need to put the route template into Railworks.

When i click on Export i get an error message at the bottom saying:

File not found c:\program files(86)\steam\steamapps\common\railworks\source\routemarkers\routemarkers\hastingstemplate.cvs

i dont understand why it cant find the file becuase the file is there. (i'm not sure why it thinks there are 2 routemarker folders though.

thanks

First thing that comes to mind is that it should be csv rather than cvs

In an other Thread you said you have created a routetemplate, then you should use this syntax:
Source\Provider\product\routemarkers\....csv
So your place for the .csv should be: Source\Chris\HastingRoute\routemarkers\hastingstemplate.csv
In the Blueprint fill in:
Provider: your choosen provider name (e.G.Chris).
Product: your choosen productname (E.g. HastingRoute).
in the .csv line: routemarkers\hastingstemplate.csv.
So the pathes in the blueprint (add the inputs together) and in the Source folder fit together.
good luck
Stefan

Hi Stefan

The Syntax i now have is:

Source/ChrisWillis/HastingstoCharingCross/RouteMarkers/HastingsTemplate.csv

I've put ChrisWillis as the provider, HastingstoCharingCross as the product and in the csv filed i put RouteMarkers/HastingsTemplate

Click on Export and get the same error message saying it cant find the csv file

Have you got the "slashes" the wrong way round?
Source/ChrisWillis/HastingstoCharingCross/RouteMarkers/HastingsTemplate.csv

should that not be:
Source\ChrisWillis\HastingstoCharingCross\RouteMarkers\HastingsTemplate.csv

Notice the "\" rarther than "/"

Right, i went and used RS_Tools and my blueprint has been created because when i go into the editor and on the right panel i see HastingstoCharingCross with a green tick next to it. I've made sure the 'route marker' boxed is selected in the bottom left but i cant get the markers to show up on the terrain?

My other biggest worry is that i used rw_decal to create my route marker file for the wolhe route, but i have not put any marker points along the route for stations, bridges, roads etc etc because when i first used the program i followed the youtube tutorial and it didnt say anything about marker points along the route, but then the tutorial only went one station along.

Couple of questions before i confuse the hell out of myself....

1. Have i done it correctly but mapping out the whole route on google earth as 1 file? (i know rw_decal is designed so you dont have to manually make images yourself along the route.
2. Should i have gone back over the route and placed ''pins'' down or am i getting that confused with somebody that would do the google mapping all maually?
3. Once i eventually work out how to get the route markers to show up in the route editor do i assume i then need to use google earth on a seperate screen to help lay the track down and put the stations/roads/bridges etc etc in
4. i get a little confused becuase i have seen some tutorials whenre you have to use an image file program to stitch together images of your route (again i hope that is if you dont use rw_decal)

Sorry for all the questions but its taken me some time to get here and some tutorials tell you to do things differently to others (for example it has been mentioned in this post that my folder setup for my routemarkers should be in the source/chriswillis/hastingstocharingcross/routemarkers folder, but if i go and use rstools to create the blueprint that tells me the marker file should be in the asset/chriswillis/hastingstocharingcross so that confused me)

thanks

Not sure what you mean. RWDecal does not create one file. It creates many files just for a single decal.

This can be handy to mark out stations for starting points with scenarios. Optional and up to you.

The whole point of RWDecal is to give you GoogleEarth images inside RW2. You don't need GoogleEarth on a separate screen but it can help in some cases.

Correct. RWDecal does this for you.

TO explain the folder structure. You use the Source folder to set up your blueprints ready for export into the game. When you export the blueprints from source it generates the files ready for use in game. These files are exported to the assets folder.

So source folder for setting up blueprints. Asset folder is where they go after the blueprints have been exported into the game (using blueprint editor).

There ways of bypassing the source folder for certain things and it saves time. This is what RWTools is doing for you.

Like a jigsaw puzzle it is all falling into place. I got it the wrong way round describng the decals. But i'm still a little stuck in the editor, because i can see the HastingstoCharingCross listed in the chrisWillis option on the right, its ticked green but i cant get the route markers to show up (yes i've selected the route marker option bottom left)

Hi

It's been a while since I've done this. When you are in the route editor, can you see the RWDecals listed under the Miscellaneous category (the sack icon)? They should be listed as GE: xxxxx

Cheers

Bob

I've replied with an extraordinarily useful post, but it needs moderating for some reason. Not sure why. :-?
