Falmouth GWR Uploaded

Post by longbow »

Now awaiting approval is my GWR version of the Falmouth Branch DLC. Please post any comments and problems here.

It installs as a new Route - Falmouth GWR - and comes in three download packs - Route, Scenery and Rolling Stock. The route includes nine scenarios, including five from Thugsy based on the 1930's WTT. Full details can be found in the Route pack Readme.

Changes to default route (V1.0):
• Minor track layout corrections at Falmouth and Truro to conform more closely with prototype
• Route resignalled with John Yelland's GWR lower quadrants, using prototype signal diagrams
• Added animated GWR token exchange apparatus by karma99
• Added my own custom GWR station and Signal Box signs
• Added GWR trackside items and lots of other period clutter throughout
• Newham branch track relaid, with gradient transitions (I wasn’t brave enough to attempt this on the rest of the route)
• Custom Truro brake van and PO wagon from Brian Yeomans

Many thanks to RSC for a very decent route and for permission to release this modified version, and to all the authors whose freeware assets I have used. Special thanks to Pete Gillam (karma99) for allowing me to include his superb GWR assets and rolling stock, and for making the token exchange apparatus especially for this route. Special thanks too go to Mark Pond (thugsy) for his great scenarios and his beta testing. Big thanks also to Brian Yeomans (briyeo1050) who made several reskins for the route.

Will it require the original Falmouth?

Thanks,

Yes, plus some other assets - see the Falmouth GWR Route Pack description for details.

I'm still waiting for the rolling stock pack to upload. Sorry about the delay.

Also waiting are some missing scenery assets - the station boards, token apparatus and a track rule - which I will also upload shortly as a patch.

It looks like this download is also required (at least when I ran the route through RWTools, I was showing one of the water towers missing):

It's bedtime here in Oz and the rolling stock pack still hasn't uploaded, so it will have to wait till tomorrow. Meantime the route includes a free roam scenario using only default stock that will allow you to explore the route if you wish.

I can confirm that, with the patch, RWTools doesn't show any missing assets. However it does show two further missing files:

Code: Select all

\railworks\Assets\eyore\LBR\Mileposts\textures\bridge_marker.TgPcDx
\railworks\Assets\Longbow\Scenery\Procedural\Embankment\embank_sgle.XSec

Thanks for your error reports all, I'll keep updating the patch accordingly.

Patch 2 just uploaded incorporates all previous patches plus the missing embankment Xsec file reported by Paul. I'm missing that bridge marker texture too but I don't think it's used in the route.

Update - the revised Patch and the Rolling Stock pack are now awaiting approval. Sorry about the delay.

Mike - once you have the GWR signal kit installed, the three new signal arm textures included in the Route pack need to be cut and pasted into this folder so that they overwrite the originals:

Railworks\Assets\Yelland\Addon\RailNetwork\Signals\UK Semaphore\GWR_Arms\textures

These new textures from Kariban are excellent and well worth installing.

Heh I forgot about those. Let me know if the fixed distant doesn't work, I forgot to check. One day I'll go revisit the whole lot.
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.
