I'd like a good answer to this query, if at all possible, please ! I once queried the Portal system, and got an answer that they worked fine with absorbing trains, but spitting 'em out - not very reliable at all. So far it seems that way, to me, but I'd like to know if it's possible to get a train that's placed into a Portal, to repeat it's exit at set intervals, so that, say, a series of coal trains could leave a yard with a portal, at intervals, heading for a power station, say, to enter an exit portal, and have this repeat, maybe 5 or six times, before ceasing, to give a bit of traffic for a passenger train you're driving, say. Even some written info that's definitely able to be located easily, would be appreciated, thanks ! Cheers.

Short answer I think is no, I'm afraid. Nice idea and would be helpful for any scenario which used repeating traffic. Might be worth suggesting to RS via the official email channel for a future upgrade - if they don't know, they con't consider it.

Yep, I think this option would be really helpful for scenarios that the creator wants use to allow several trains the same, or, maybe different ones, over a period of time. The Portals will definitely create a train and put it out at the needed time, but one is all it will perform, if I'm correct. I think I will contact RS, and mention this, and see if they do have some sort of documentation for the Portals, somewhere, but I don't really think so. Some info will be useful, if it's possible to get hold of it, somehow. Cheers.

Hi
You can definitely have more than one train coming out of a Portal in a scenario (although RW doesn't like it), but I'm pretty sure you can't have the same consist repeatedly coming out of the same Portal at 10 minute intervals, or whatever.

More food for thought, I suppose. Gotta go and investigate this... it set my brain ticking over a bit, and I want to go and see what eventuates, because of this. Will tell you more, once I see how it goes. No point in saying things here, and finding it's a pure dud thought
Cheers, and thanks.

Re: Can anyone answer this clearly, please ??
There is a way to do this:
Szenario Editor:
Create a consist Coal Train and add this train to the Consist List.
Then set the train e.g. 5 times at the track near the Portal.
Give each of the trains a driver and a Name and the Path and Stops and Starting time with the Szenario editor.
Ignore the warning Train 1 to 5 uses the same block.
Goto to the world editor.
Duple click on the Portal , a window opens with add and remove.
Click on add and the on the first train. a.s.o.
Important to avoid problems:
The starting times have so to be calculated, that the next train comming out of the Portal can always use a free block between Portal and the first signal after the Portal.
I hope that helps.
