NORTHERN RAIL NORTH WEST

This has been a project i have wanted to do for a long time only just got into knowing how to make decals and place them into the game "Thanks to nobkins for his time and help" 8)

The route starts at blackpool north and then travels east through Layton, Poulton - Le - Fyled, Kirkham and Wesham, Salwick, Preston, Lostock Hall, Bamber Bridge,Pleasington, Cherry Tree, Mill Hill, Blackburn,
Rishton, Church and Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, Huncoat, Hapton, Rose Grove, Burnley, Brierfield, Nelson and Colne.

This will probably take a good while getting to a playable standard as im learning still but so far all decals are down and the terrain DEM is in place im just awaiting the delivery of
my gradient profiles book to arrive in the post and then i can get going laying track but whenever i can ill update you with what i have produced :)

Always fancied seeing Blackpool North in RW, a pretty iconic view with the semaphores. No pressure. :D

Are you planning on having any payware requirements?

Only reason I ask is because of the semaphores and their lack of compatibility with GARL/WCML signalling etc.

It's best to know about those issues before you get them all placed and have errors.

The basic rule of thumb I use is one or the other, default or payware. So if I am doing a semaphore based route, I will only use default colour light. There maybe certain signals that do work fine with each other, its just the method I use to stay safe.

Good luck! I thought of possibly extending CKPR as far south as there, but frankly the trackwork scares me! Drop me a PM if you get stuck with anything, as I've been through the learning curve.

Looking forward to them Tom.

Don't feel compelled to show anything though. Make sure it looks how you want it to. We have time. :D

Hello all ive been working away this evening non stop since 5pm and im quite happy so far with what ive come up with :)

This is the colne area in the following pictures

Theres about 3 miles of track layed so far but some parts will need relaying due to not being perfectly straight just there so i can roughly
have it there to work on as needed.
But the good part is im getting to know what each button and tool does now so im getting a little quicker by each night lol

Thanks, Tom. :D

Good stuff. It gets easier the more you do - but still takes a while!

Cheers

Great idea for a route.

I've got a lot of info about Blackburn station if you want it ( old OS maps, photos , signalling diagrams etc )

I did do a version of Blackburn station in the 50's for Trainz, and if I could get my head around Railworks a bit more ... who knows.
