Do you not think that the title of "South of Scotland" rather implies that it's, er, not Scotland?

Re: New from Keith Ross
It says West of Scotland now... so I guess it's either Ireland or Canadahertsbob wrote:msey0002 wrote:Scotland's going pretty good at the moment

Re: New from Keith Ross
Freeware or payware, Keith's work will be well worth supporting.
West of Scotland, hmm... doesn't look like the Mallaig line
, non-electrified, double track - I would hazard a guess and say he is extending the GSW north towards Kilmarnock and maybe Glasgow.
We really do need a utility or some other means of merging all these adjacent Scottish routes into one glorious organism!

Re: New from Keith Ross
Has anyone noticed this is on what seems to be, The Port Road's trackbed? places like the start look terribly similar to Dumfries.

Re: New from Keith Ross
Yep
. Well, Keith always wanted to extend his Port Road to Stranraer, maybe he's doing the GSWL Dumfries -Kilmarnock or Stranraer
Re: New from Keith Ross
He has confirmed it over on YT, its an infill between the two existing routes which I guess would be Port Road and WCML.

Makes sense then: Dumfries - Annan - Gretna Green

Re: New from Keith Ross
The dfference is, this seems to be set in the present day. Only 2 tracks through Dumfries, no centre road. To the north, the line to Castle Douglas is a single track, presumably just the remnants of the stub to Maxwelltown.
Re: New from Keith Ross
WCML is set in the present day, so must be tough to find a compromise. In fairness, I don't think Dumfries - Gretna has changed much since 1965 when the Port Road closed

Re: New from Keith Ross
I think it will work well in the modern setting. I wonder how it will work at the southern end. Will it stop at Gretna, or continue to Carlisle with a duplicate of that section from WCML North?
Re: New from Keith Ross
Keith said on YouTube that it will be freeware, so I doubt it will continue down to Carlisle due to the required assets

Sounds excellent though I do echo Vern's view that route merging should be a future aspiration for RailWorks.
