Suggestion for Loft-ed concrete "road"?

Post by rivimey »

Folks,

I'm trying to model a concrete runway, for which I would like a concrete "road" loft that has no barriers or other road-like features. Sadly the default concrete lofts assume road markings. I could live without any markings at all! there are two widths needed - roughly 2-lane road, and 4- or 5-lane road.

I haven't been able to find anything so far. I would make one but I don't have the tools... does anyone know of something that's available ?

A poor second place would be slabs of static "concrete" - but the area concerned is huge (about 2km long) and not flat.

Have you tried laying the default 1 Lane US roadway as a runway? This has no marking at all, and the texture is such that if you lay 2 sections parallel and overlapping slightly for the required width, it appears as a single piece.

Failing that, if you say a particular default road is wide enough and is what you're looking for apart from the markings; then you could make a copy of the road loft and associated texture, and reskin the road section so it looks as you wish.

There are 2 and 4-lane concrete roads without markings in ScaleRoad, and since these don't contain traffic (unless added using a traffic ribbon), there's no worry of cars appearing where planes should be. :)

A freeware version is available from my forum for you to download and try: http://www.3dtrains.com/forums/
Cheers!
