Walhalla Golden Tramway

Built in the early 1900's the Standard Gauge Tramway from Walhalla to Thompson and then on to the Gold Mines of the Moe Valley was reclaimed by rail enthusiasts in the early 80's using 2 small 0-6-0 locomotives similar to the A1x and a S100. It runs through the lush temperate rainforests and over 3 large bridges and past a number of waterfalls on its route to The Moe Gold Mine Heritage Center.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for sharing your efforts with us, this looks a very picturesque Route which you seem to have captured well, good work.

Just one thing, I think some additional Timber supports wouldn't go amiss on the wooden supported track shown in the last 'screenie' (The mines), those Diesel loco's weigh about 30 Tons.

I think this has a lot of potential as a route for smaller engines. And it's nice to see a good level of imagination used in a freelance route.

Good luck with this project!

Very nice shots Rob, but I've had to edit your post to show links instead, as they're larger than the maximum size allowed of 800 x 600.

Hi Alex, another aussie!

Yes you are correct in what you say, however i am doing a fictional route based on the allignment of the real route. this gives me more scope for adding things.
