Asset Download Problems

Post by Irishrailguy »

Hi,

I have just got round to downloading the quattro studios 3d (camber) track and every time I go to open the zip file it is corrupted. It doesn't seem to download the files rather than openly transfer it. And when I look at the properties box it says the file is 24GB in size. Which must be wrong.
Has anybody else had this problem? Could someone lend a hand?

Thanks.

Well is comes down here fine at 6.35MB and unzips fine. Inside the zip are a readme file and an RPK file that can be installed by the Railworks packager as a legacy file. I will try that later when I get back from my appointment.

I'd already installed this file, but I've just downloaded it again with no problem.

Hmm, the size issue was fixed, it's no longer a massive 24GB, however it is still corrupted, does anyone know where else I can get it?
P.S. I used winrar to open the file and I see the readme and .rpk file but I can't do anything with it as winrar also says 'the archive is corrupt'.

When you say it is corrupted what exactly do you mean ? The file comes down as a zip file that Winzip opens fine. Inside is a RPK file to import and a readne document. The RPK imports fine with the package manager.

I concur: it downloads just fine (6.4MB) and cleanly unpackaged with WinRAR.

I wish I knew what it means, all I can say is that when I go to open it I get a notification that the zip file is invalid or corrupt

Thanks Stefan, didn't think of that one, I might try chrome aswell as it downloads files differently.

And try using 7Zip to open it rather than WinRar - it works for me.

Sefan, THANK YOU! Firefox sorted it, turns out I was using internet explorer 6, so I can see where the problems came from.

I suggest you ditch IE6 - from what I remember it still has major security issues, as well as compatibility problems.

IE6 has more holes in it than a Tetley tea-bag and should be treated immediately with extreme prejudice. We've gone two full iterations since that pile of poop was current...
