Single slip render

Post by antonyperks »

How are you supposed to make them render, i am laying in the tracks at a GWR station, and the acces for the goods yard is from a trailing connection from the down platform line across 4 tracks via single slips to the shed, now i can get double slips to render fine but how do you make them singles?, when i delete the curve i dont want it throws all the rest wobbly and changes the track type from bath new to bath old???

Or do i just put up with it and use double slips.

Hi,

It can be done, but it is frustrating at first. Take a look at this one that I created on my WIP route.

Image.

One of the most important things is to make sure that the track-work across the slip has the same track rules throughout. That way, you'll get the correct rendering of the flange-ways etc. I did mine by crossing a track to create a diamond crossing initially, then adding on the curve for the single slip. It's only when you start mixing and matching track rules that things (generally) go awry.
