Good stuff Jim. Look at those veggie gardens and the abundance of plants and bushes in places, great

Oh my. This is going to be the daddy of all routes! I can already hear the 'Tractors' slogging their way up those gradients. This is an excellent start to a route that will, I'm sure, be gratefully received far and wide. I look forward to following its development. Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic and instantly recognisable. A steam version of Buxton isn't the easiest layout. I did an MSTS version (now being worked on by chrisj94).
I take it by your title you have the 'Through Limestone Hills' book of the MR between Ambergate and Buxton? I also have a book on the Ashbourne LNWR branch if you need any extra references at any time.
Well done!
Dave

I have that book as well. I often thought this route built for the steam era would be fantastic. But it would be a mammoth task to take on.1975Supra wrote: I take it by your title you have the 'Through Limestone Hills' book of the MR between Ambergate and Buxton?
This modern version is looking great though

Hi,
thanks for the kind offer Dave. I already have both books, both Through limestone hills (and yes, you're correct on the choice of name
) and the LNWR Ashbourne book. Both have become invaluable. No more screen shots at the minute, but work continues to progress. I started laying the sidings at Tunstead the other day, so its definitely getting there. As soon as I get a decent stretch of spare time, I will crack on. Its still being developed and I'm determined to get it finished!
Regards, James

Re: Through Limestone Hills - WIP
I'll have to dig out my MSTS route. With Buxton out of the way the route to Ashbourne is pretty simple in terms of track laying and scenery. Ashbourne gets more complicated (although in RW it will be easier than in MSTS). Doing the Ashbourne yards was a nightmare as was Buxtons intricate layout.

Re: Through Limestone Hills - WIP
Hi again,
A couple more screenies from some recent progress. I've been busy with other things of late, so progress has been slow, but it's getting there! Track work is done as far as the bottom end of Tunstead quarry and the remainder of the route is only another xx miles or so. I can't imagine it will take too long to finish the track, but as far as detailing goes!??! Could be a while yet before I'm happy.
Anyway, as I said, a couple more screen shots from recent progress, this time around the Blackwell Mill area. This was originally a triangular junction, joining the Midland route from Manchester to the Midland route to Derby and both of the previous to the spur to Buxton, via Ashwood Dale. Again, gradients are steep. Ashwood Dale descends from Buxton at 1 in 100 (with a brief stretch of 1 in 88), before climbing to the summit at Peak Forest at a gradient of 1 in 90.

Elevated view of Blackwell Mill. The line the train is on was the chord between the route from Buxton and the route to Manchester. Bottom of the picture would be in the direction of Derby.

Different angle of above, showing the short Peak Forest Junction tunnel ahead of the train and the disused Buxton Central Lime and Stone Co. quarry to the right

Looking back towards Blackwell Mill from the sidings at Tunstead.

Re: Through Limestone Hills - WIP
Hi,
After an enforced lay off from route building I decided to dust off my 'Through Limestone Hills' route and pick up where I left off. However, I now have a problem that is preventing me from continuing the build. I used the asset selection tool (blue box with the orange arrow) to select some new assets that weren't available during the initial build. I now get the dreaded SBHH error message when I try and open the world editor to continue. Log mate shows this error message.
[Content 18:46:29] Trace cJobManager.cpp : 204 = count:
[Content 18:46:51] Trace cEntity.cpp : 1259 = Missing blueprint "editor\gizmo\scenario markers\standard scenario marker.xml"
Can anyone assist at all, as I would quite like to get on with the route and not scrap it!

Re: Through Limestone Hills - WIP
Have a look at the address mentioned in logmate and see if Standard Scenario Marker.xml and also the .bin file are both there at the specified address. If not verify the cache. If they are at that location then it's something other than a missing file, but I have no idea what it may be in that case.

Hope you manage to fix your problem as this Route was showing lots of promise.

Re: Through Limestone Hills - WIP
Hi, I'm really hoping that someone can assist me with this problem. I seem to be having no luck at all, which is probably due in part to my lack of understanding of the internal workings of RW/TS2012! I have used RW Tools to check the route and it comes back with a clean bill of health. However, whenever I try to open the route via the main menu and the 'Editor' option i always get the same SBHH message with the same Logmate report (see below);

Can anyone offer any assistance? Where should I be looking for the missing blueprint or the Gizmo? I cannot see a file named 'editor' to follow the path that is outline above. This is driving me crackers and I would really appreciate any help that is offered.
Thanks in advance, James

Re: Through Limestone Hills - WIP
Have you tried deleting all your scenarios and creating a new one?

Could it be that assets\kuju\railsimulatorcore\editor\gizmo\Standard Scenario Marker.xml is missing or damaged ?

Re: Through Limestone Hills - WIP
Hi; have you tried deleting any scenarios (or moving the folder out of the main route folder) and then entering the world editor? It may be you have a corrupt scenario (even if it is only an empty free roam)
