Hi lancasterr

I must say I'm rather excited about your discovery. Rather than going to all the effort of putting together a document, would it not be a quicker solution to have a look through the following threads and maybe point out in here where everyone has gone wrong?

http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... erge+route

http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... e#p1227035

http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... e#p1389066

I'm very much looking forward to reading about your methods either way.

Cheers

Bob

What a suprise to see the Crouch Valley beta ready for download.

Thanks Jamie

Just a word of advice when you complete the whole route is to delete the .bak files to reduce the overall download size.
I got rid of 40 mb's of .bak files from the scenery folder.

Best Regards
Phil

Just finished taking a 156 from Southminster to Southend. The level of detail in this route is quite frankly astonishing
Well done

Fantastic, as usual :D. I am rather surprised at how smoothly it runs, I had a bit of problems with stuttering in V1, but this one runs like a dream 8)

Hi all, thanks to the people that have downloaded the route and I hope you are enjoying it.

I notice on those two scenarios that the 317 responds better on shenfield to Southminster then the other one but i don't think this is anything wrong with the unit. I think its just a difference between the original 317 and the updated 317.

Hopefully someone may release some scenarios for the route and this won't be an issue.

The good news is version 3 is aleady 80% done but will still be some time away due to having to replace garl assets and also finishing off certain sections.
Hopefully will be out by end of the year.

Thanks again to the people that say thank you and make it worth while. :-)

Kind regards

Jamie

PS thank you about the feedback on the .bak files. I'll make sure they are removed for the next version.

May I make a suggestion. I noticed that the Crouch Valley V2 route is 151.1 MB and since V3 is soon coming out. It is certain that it will climb. Is the next route going to extend from the original V2 so we will not have to delete the route and place the V3 which will take quite a bit of time to download because of the size of the file! :D

I'm downloading now 8) and I'm in queue position of 62/63! :( the download is really popular! Congatulations! :D

Hi, I will do what I can to reduce the size of the next version and try to make it an update rather then a complete new download.

Version 3, is currently sitting at 256mb, but that is with a lot of assets already included with this route, and a lot of .bak files that need trimming.

I'll try to make it as small as possible. hope you enjoy it when it finally downloads.

There are a lot of unnecessary files included in the download that you can definitely get rid of.

Start with the folder Assets/jamster47/j47 signs - as far as I can see, there is nothing useful in there, just .igs, .bmp and .xml files with no .bin files, duplicated in two folders: they take up 15Mb in the archive, 94Mb unpacked. All your station signs are included in the Assets/jamster47/Station Signs folder.

Elsewhere in the included assets there are plenty of .xml and backup (.bak, .bak1, etc) files that aren't needed, and there are backup files in the route folder as well.

Remove these before you package the route, and you will reduce the size considerably.

Ah... guys umm it is going to take me 10 hours + to download this, I can't wait that long over night! :o

Sorry to be asking this but can you put another download of this route somewhere else so there will be a faster download please?

thanks.
