Flipping Platforms over

Post by RobertM »

Hi all,

Just messing round in the Route Editor for RW and was wondering how do I flip a platform when I've laid it via the offset tool, as at the moment when I lay the platform the edge that is suppose to be next to the track is on the wrong side.

It's not an exact science with the offset tool. You need to simply just click the opposite arrow when making the offset and then move the platform in place.

If you hold down the left mouse button you can move the offset arrow gizmo so it is pointing the other way (ie away from the track). This should result in the correct platform edge facing the track

Really? I must have laid 1000 platforms and didn't know that! :D

You can flip the arrow with the mouse, then the platform will set to the right side. In the lower left flyout you can also change the distance of the yellow lines to the middle of the track.
Here the video 40 is showing this: http://railsimulator.blip.tv/ Sorry, some advertising before.

I've always thought I'm doing it wrong! I can't understand why it always lays the platforms backwards. Weird.

Which is great. But it doesn't explain why platforms always come out backwards... At least it's not just me!
