Hi there...
Am I correct in stating that, while the Offset method of copying track on curces and straights, is quite effective, there just may be a flaw in it. I had some track laid in a route of mine, with the Oxford Electric Overhead Wires type, and wanted to create a couple of pieces the same, but straight, and when I had the three flyout boxes all showing, on the left, and had used the square dotted box to select the length of track I wanted, and then produced the yellow lines with the arrows at one end, I discovered that the bottom flyout box had disappeared, to be replaced with another box, allowing you to increase of decrease the spacing of the track, and when you thought you were getting track with electric overhead wires, it's NOT the case. Rather, the track is the same type you chose, but it's not electrified - i.e. no wires. Is this a possible oversight by Railsimulator.com ? If you don't choose electrified track, then it appears to be OK, but otherwise... Any way to get this track with wires to show in the offset method ?

Jim,
Never tried this but you can always change track designation after by selecting spacebar four times then using the select tool in conjunction with the R/H flyout where you can set the electrification type.

Hi,
Yes there is. First , you are correct. No wire appears using the offset method. Why this is so I have no idea, how ever to fix it is rather simple but it is just a pain. You select the newly laid length of track using the square dotted box and then once you have selected the track press the enter key and the wire appears, and then on to the next section

Yep, that's so. I tried it myself, and managed to get the wires to appear. Problem over, on this aspect. But your opinion on something else would be appreciated - if you do happen to be aware of this, which has happened to me since the last major update for RailWorks. It's this: if you use the "Timetable View" program to make a scenario, then, if you use the Diesel Fuel bowser, placed alongside the track, linked to the track right beside the bowser itself, and create your scenario, and you might want your loco to go to the bowser, once entering the engine shed vicinity, say, then when you select the icon for the fueling icon to do this, you open the pulldown menu in the window to select the particular fuelling point itself, and you find that the list is totally empty (not even one item there, even if there IS only one fuelling point). The menu is blank. How come is this the case ? Is it possible to get fuel points, whatever they're named, to actually show, so you CAN fuel your loco before the loco is shut down, and the scenario ends ?

Re: Offset Track Laying...
Jim, you need to make sure there is a marker placed at the fueling point for the fuel pick-up to work. If there isn't one, you can easily add a scenario marker.
Hope this helps.
