Loading screen - help needed!
Hi all. I'm finalising my RW version of Llangollen. I've created a loading screen. But i'm not sure how to use it! The reason for this is the route wasn't started 'properly'. I just used the default template and not my own. I was young and foolish! Anyway.......so without the file structure in place with a route template folder, how do i do it? I'll have the same problem with the GCR when i get to this stage so i want to work this out now! Thanks in advance for any assistance given. Regards Matt(92212)

Re: Loading screen - help needed!
Hi, RWtools will do this for you.
Re: Loading screen - help needed!
Hi, RW Tools is available on the Download Library, however it is a demo version.
If you wish to buy the full version, visit: http://www.rstools.info/rw_tools.html
Good Luck!

Re: Loading screen - Help needed!
Thanks guys for your suggestions so far. But i already have rw-tools. I need to know how i get my loading screen into a route without the previously set up route folder structure. RW-tools assumes you've started a route properly in the first place! Regards matt

Matt,
I helped LoneWolfDon overcome the same problem.
We had to do it realtime since typing all the paths in here was a bit like a postal chess game.
PM me if you have realtime chat and you still need help.

Re: Loading screen - help needed!
Yep! I was in the same boat as you a while back (and younger and foolisher too, but now I'm just an "old fool", heheh ) when I was still new to RailWorks and getting into building my own routes. At the time, I didn't realize that I should have set up my own developer / blueprints folder, rather I just went with the "Default" template and went from there.
With the kind help of Andy here, he helped walk me through the steps to retro-fit my route into my own proper developer folders with good success. It was a bit complicated for me to try and figure it out on my own, so having someone that knows the ropes of how to do this walking me through the procedure was definitely a big help.. and I learned a lot from the experience too.
So it is possible with a bit of patience and finagling, and you should take Andy up on his kind offer to help you with this.
I would offer help myself, but I'm not sure I remember all of the proper steps involved now. And now that I own a full version of RW_Tools, I'll use that for setting up any future Developer folders / blueprints for any other projects I may start.

Thanks. I'm not on the internet at home so perhaps the best way would be for you to give me a brief summary of what needs changing and i'm sure i can work out the rest! Cheers. Regards Matt(92212)

Re: Loading screen - help needed!
Hi Matt
So I like your LLangollen Route in RS, I thought I should help you.
Here is the description to add an own Template folder and an own Loading Screen.
1) RW-Tools -- Route Building tools -- Set UP developer Folder fill in Matt -OK
2) RW-Tools -- Route Building tools --Set UP Sub Folders
You see:
C:\Programme\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Source
goto Matt, Enter Add On Name: LLangollen -- Confirm
Question: Do you want to set a similar set of … -- YES
Message: Your Provider and Product names have been set up -- OK
3) Next Step Explorer
goto C:\Programme\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\TemplateRoutes
Copy loading_bathtemplecombe.TgPcDx and BathTemp.bin to
C:\Programme\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Matt\LLangollen\TemplateRoutes
4) Rename loading_bathtemplecombe.TgPcDx to loading_LLangollen.TgPcDx and BathTemp.bin to LLangollen.bin
RW-Tools open Railworks file: LLangollen.bin
Change:
<DisplayName>
<Localisation-cUserLocalisedString>
<English d:type="cDeltaString">Bath Templecombe</English>
<French d:type="cDeltaString">Bath Templecombe</French>

And Cange
<TextureID d:type="cDeltaString">Kuju\RailSimulator\templateRoutes\[00]loading_bathtemplecombe</TextureID>
To
<TextureID d:type="cDeltaString">Matt\LLangollen\templateRoutes\[00]loading_LLangollen</TextureID>
Save Railworks File
5) No Open in Your LLangollen Route Folder with RW-Tools the RouteProperties.xml
Cange:

</BlueprintID>
6) No you should have an own Loading Screen, looks like the Bath Templecombe one.
no problem.
I think you have created a Loading_LLangollen.dds.
7) Then RW-Tools -- Route Building tools-- Select the Route LLangollen -- click add Route Loading Picture:
there You get a message how this Picture has to be created and saved.
Next selection Window select the Loading_LLangollen.dds -- open.
Final Message: Your Loading picture has been installed -- OK
No start the route and tick Matt -- LLangollen in the Object filter (the famous blue cube), save and close RW.
A good Idea is to click on clear cache in tools & docs.
Then start RW again and enjoy.
Good luck, awaiting your RW LLangollen Route and please do not forget to add the Assets Matt to the Route Package.

Matt,
I like your loading screen but if you wanted it to look similar to the default style, I put a template here:

Re: Loading screen - help needed!
Thanks guys for the above. I may stick to what i've got but i'll make use of that template when i come to do the GCR one.
Lovely pics there kirkheath! Steel, steam and stars 2007? I attended the patriot gala in 08. That inspired the route! I'm glad you like the RS version. The RW version is tweaked with extra scenic items. But still no GWR signals though i'm afraid.
I just can't get my head round them! Feel free to add them yourself and re-release. I'm handing it over to the community now!
Cheers
