Spacebar Colours on tracks

Post by ka959 »

What, exactly, does it mean for the various colours displayed each time you press the spacebar in the Route Editor ? I'm trying to work out why I can't access the thire end of three long sidings I created, and named these ends, made a short scenario to test the American signals.

There seems nothing amiss here, but when I pressed the spacebar, all the tracks were yellow all over, apart from the curved part of the track on one side only, which was a tan colour instead of yellow. Not sure why this is the case, so can someone point me to the right piede of text to explain it properly, or explain it him/herself, please, as it will help me most definitely to perhaps solve the problem. The tracks are all the same type and both directions if I haven't missed anything.

Regards...

Hi Jim, the yellow coloured tracks are Mainline and the tan coloured is Yard. When you have the editor displaying this mode, you can move your mouse over each track section and a little properties box will pop up, telling you the relevant info. It was only when I looked at the Newcastle-York route in this mode, that I understood why I couldn't get a Newcastle-bound freight to access the loop at Durham - it is set as a passenger line, so no AI freight will use it :(

Hope this helps.

G'day there, mate...

Yep, there's a lot of truth in that, as I do recall using a "yard"setting for the piece of track from the siding "C" to the entrance to siding "B", where you need to access to get to the mainline, or siding "A" if you wish. Now I definitely know what it's about, but what on earth is that one with black & white shapes that seem to be intertwined together ? If you have tine to answer, then many thanks. Cheers.

Page 17 (para 2.5.5 Track views) of the Creator Manual has a bullet list of the displays in order in which they cycle each time you hit the spacebar.
However there is one more view after "Track-linked Objects View" and that is "Signal Connections View[?]" for want of a better name.

Jim, the style of display which shows you the black and white shapes is the "Track-linked Objects View" and is telling you that there is no electrification for that piece of track.

The hover hints work in all views except line diection. Line speed hover hints are corrupted but functional. "Signal Connections View[?]" has an empty hover hint.
