Hi

That's a new one on me. Sounds like it's related to the various additional assets that have been packaged.

I'll have to have a look at this when I get back home this evening.

Really sorry for the inconvenience.

Cheers

Bob

Hi Bob,

I also have the same problem. Its a bummer, as your route looks really good.

Hi James

Bummer is certainly a word I'd consider using!

Still, at least it solves the problem as to what I'm going to be doing when I get home tonight...

Kind regards

Bob

Hi

I've removed the file from the library now and will get a properly working version uploaded as soon as poss.

I'm very much looking forward to running your new route Bob.

In the meantime, could you tell me what I'm not doing correctly to get 4th rail track to show? I choose IOW track rules, IOW track and click toggle with 4th rail set under electrification, but only standard track appears.

Thanks.

Mike

Hi

I'm looking forward to someone else running my route as well!!

The settings you're changing are just the properties for the track (which you still need to do).

The third/fourth rail is a separate lofted scenery item that need laying after the main trackwork using an offset of 1.1m for the third rail and .01m for the fourth. I'd personally lay the third rail first.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Bob

Hi Bob

I bypassed the Package manager, and installed by extracting the files from the .rwp to the correct folders (using 7Zip).

I haven't found any zero byte files, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. I checked the route out with RWTools, which pointed out missing Decals but nothing else.

However, I've just tried running the route, and got this error:

---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
ERROR: Expected a Network::cJunctionSave, got a
FILE: ../API\core/cFxException.h
LINE:113
---------------------------
OK

Many thanks for the extra investigations. The decals are deliberately missing as they cover a part of the route which isn't currently built and I figured including them would only bloat the download file size.

One of the testers (yes it was tested!) had a very similar error, but only with one scenario.

I think I'll try again without attempting to be clever packaging up the other assets as this appears to have worked more satisfactorily in the past.

Thanks again for your efforts and patience.

Thank you for the quick answer. I'll give it a go in the morning.

Cheers!

Hi Mike

Got caught up with having to do some work halfway through my earlier reply!

I'd make sure you're completely happy with your track properties and the way it's working before you lay the centre fourth rail. It interferes with selecting the underlying track, making adjusting the track properties rather tricky once it's been laid. By the same token if you lay the third rail first you can offset the fourth rail either at a distance of 0.1 from the actual track (this figure changes to zero when you're laying the rail), or 1.1 from the third rail. If you do the fourth rail first, then you can only offset from that, which makes putting the third rail in more frustrating. This last bit might make more/some sense once you've tried it!

alanch - just wondering whether you have the Class 08 installed. I can only find one reference to this exact error on the forum and there's no really satisfactory answer to it, so I wonder whether it's related to my inadvertently leaving a couple of 08s in the Free Roam scenario??

Cheers

Yes, I do have the 08 - the only stock I'm missing are the Jubilees, and I've not tried that scenario.

Bob:

Thank you for the added explanation.

I think I'm now getting the hang of the lateral positioning through the offset procedure, but the 'hot' rails are buried under the track bed. Is there a way to preset their height offset so they show above the track bed? I'm sorry to pester you for yet another rudimentary step.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

EDIT......... No Need to answer, I realize what I was doing wrong with the offset routine. Thanks anyway. BTW 1.1 from the third rail seems to centre the fourth rail, whereas .1 from the actual seems off-centre (as far as my eye tells me).

Hi

Glad you've resolved the height issue. To be honest I've no idea how you'd go about changing the height of the extra rails!

Try 0.01 offset for the fourth rail. And my apologies for the earlier duff info.

Cheers

Bob

Thanks Bob,

I'm sticking to the routine of 1.1 for positioning the third from the running rails and the fourth from the third, maintaining the same parameter. Works fine and I'm happily producing junctions and all now; almost in production line fashion.
Indeed, you can move the extra rails around with the normal object tool, but that's nonsense as far as precision goes. Okay to create a scrap heap

Cheers!

Good luck with your ongoing rail laying! What route are you doing by the way? It already sounds interesting!

Back to business:

I've re-packaged the route without all the additional assets bar one which is no longer available for download. The .rwp I've now uploaded has been independently installed and does work, so I'm reliably informed (thanks everso, Mike). **Please note that you'll need to delete the previous version of the route before installing this one, unless you have already done so**

(I don't know how to do these links properly...)

I was really hopeful that I would be able to provide one downloadable file that would just install and run, and I'm extremely sorry that this turned out not to be the case.

Once the file is approved I'm not sure all the relevant asset links have worked, so I'll list them here as well. Several were created for RailSimulator and I wonder whether this may have contributed to the previous failure? No idea... Either way, once again I'll say a big thank you to all these talented folks.
