Hi Connor. Sorry to say that we're at least 5 miles away from any deltics here. Maybe I should have included them in with the HSTs earlier...

This evening I've been trying to make Bushey Troughs more, er, trough-like. I've also thought of a way they could possibly become operational given the necessary RW tweakery skills. Bear with me on this!

I don't really understand loco blueprints or any scripting at all, so I've had to make a couple of assumptions. It must surely be possibly to make a new Marker type, like a platform or more likely it would need to be a stretched fuelling point. There must be something that tells the tender the rate at which it is being filled when you use a water tower, so it stands to reason that this could be amended to fill at a slower rate over a designated length of track (using the Marker). It must also surely be possible to couple this with a 'water scoop up/down' script which would work in a similar way to pressing 'T'.

If you were then able to couple this with an additional steam/smoke emitter in the correct location on the tender, I'm sure that with a bit of trial and error you could affect a reasonable looking splash!

Anyway, whilst still far from perfect, here's wot I as been doing tonight.

Glad you like the troughs(!) . I cannot begin to tell you the number of different combinations of assets I tried before ending up with those as the result! Wish I could make the river 12" narrower though!

Whenever I try to make a scenario I'm finding that I'm having to relay at least one piece of track, which is a pain and makes everything take ten times as long. Still, I suppose it's ironing out the bugs.

I'll end the weekend with another comparison, of equal quality to the last two!

I'm writing some scenarios at the moment, as I've previously mentioned, all of which are relatively short, so I've tried to include as much AI traffic as I can. I'm quite pleased that in two scenarios so far I've managed to recreate that magical moment when you are pulling into the platform on one train whilst watching the train you want to catch pulling out. Brings back many frustrating memories!

Thats really coming along Bob...Some very busy scenery there, that Belmont Circle looks to be some epic work!

Cracking stuff mate, I see the real thing day in day out, although how it is now. Carpenders park is my marker for stopping at Watford Jcn, nice easy to see station anytime of day/weather. If I hit Bushey at more than 110 then I'm in trouble LOL.

If I were to build the route again I'm not sure that individually placed houses/gardens/fences etc. would be the right way forward!

@Ghostcav - that's a bit of a braking distance! Wow. I don't think there's going to be much danger of doing 110mph through Bushey driving my route!

Putting scenarios together is taking me almost as long as building the route in the first place!! I've done six now, the longest of which takes about 35 minutes. Not sure if this is a good thing or not, but it isn't a very long route!

I've had real hassles tweaking the route to make my earlier scenarios work, but I've just finished the most complicated one yet and it actually worked almost straight away. I am amazed!

I'm using default stock (with the exception of kevmt's Ivatt 2-6-2-t and Jinty) in all bar one scenario. The other scenario is a Jubilee-fest!

Here are some shots from the last scenario I've set up: driving a pick-up goods train with a 7F, collecting additional wagons from Bushey and Pinner Sidings (Headstone Lane). There's plenty of AI traffic as well.

For anyone that knows Watford, the M1 Link Road goes through these arches. Tesco and the Travel Inn would be off-camera to the right. The odd-looking thing through the left arch was an open air swimming pool, fed directly from the River Colne. It was only in the late 1920s that it was realised the baths constituted a public health hazard, and they were closed. I digress...

For better or for worse I've now uploaded Leafy Suburbs.

I am hopeful that the route will work straight away without any additional downloads, except for the Jinty and 2-6-2T used in several scenarios. I believe I have had everyone's permission to re-distribute their scenery assets and will profusely apologise in advance if I haven't. Equally, I apologise if I've not included some scenery items in the download file. Or if non of it works at all!

It's only a short route, I'm afraid, but I've done 8 scenarios driving a variety of stock and services which may hopefully compensate for this. (If my Southbound Goods scenario works I'd love to hear from you - I can't believe it works on my PC let alone anyone else's!)

I welcome any comment, good or bad, albeit with the proviso that I am already aware that several areas are very far from perfect!
