Re: Terraforming - What am I doing wrong?
No worries,
I've gone through and created a new exported blueprint file and this is the result:

I get a successful build message but this time I got the line saying 'Target(s) out of date for source file.....'
However I still get only the .xml file, no .bin. This time though its only 15kb where it was 18kb - and I noticed this is the difference between your .bin file size in the tutorial screenie, don't know if this is a coincidence?

Re: Terraforming - What am I doing wrong?
Hi Ant
The Targets out of date message is normal. I get it too but I do not know what it means but ignore it.
The only other thing that does not look right is the blueprint name. When dealing with blueprints it is very important to ensure that names are AllInOne or Seperated_By_An_Underscore. Sometimes it is crucial to do this and other times it does not matter but generally all names connected with blueprints should be one block of words. Try renaming the blueprint but without the space.
It may be my screen but where you have written the extensions e.g. TimeOfDay\Default.xml the gap between the t and the .xml looks too big. I am sure you would not put an extra space in but just another suggestion.
If you read the report at the bottom of the blueprint it tells you that it has created an .xml file and the below it it tells you that it has created a .bin file from the .xml file so this may help to find out where the .bin file is.

Re: Terraforming - What am I doing wrong?
Hi Geoff,
Ok, I've started again (I forget how many times now...
) and created a new blueprint all over again. In my developer folder I now have an .xml file and a .bin file. Plus two seemingly identical .tgt files (I've tried the route with and without these in with no difference)
I've written out the extensions as you suggested and taken the spaces out of the blueprint name.
I get a successful build and everything appears correctly.
I've gotten all the hgt files from the immediate area around my origin point and they are in the SRTM folder.
And again I press 't' and nothing happens... :bad-words:
The only thing different I can see now is the blue grid I get when I first open the route before the object sets are ticked.
Thanks for all your help so far Geoff I now it must be a chore!

Re: Terraforming - What am I doing wrong?
Hi Ant
.tgt .cost and .bak files are created in vast numbers but serve no purpose when running the program so you can delete them if you wish although the .bak files are backup copies of files you have changed so they do have some purpose.
I am totally baffled too. I have just continued on with my test route template, created a new route from it, got the no sky/no terrain phase, set the filter for Kuju RailSimulator and Kuju RailSimulatorUS, exited the route, loaded up the route again, got the sky and green grass, went into World Editor, pressed 'T' and up popped the terrain.
As far as I can see it all behaved perfectly and even in the World Editor I did not have to select any particular asset icon to get the terrain to rise.
I am going to have a go at a new route the location you are trying at and see if there is something peculiar at that point.

Re: Terraforming - What am I doing wrong?
Hi Ant
I have started from scratch and created a new route with an origin at the place where you want to start and (annoyingly for you) it took about 5 minutes from start to finish including the raising of terrain in the origin area.

I cannot work out what the problem is but if you really get stuck I can let you have the blank route with terrain raised and you can then get straight into building.

Hi,
Should that Template folder in your blueprint shot above be there ?
Cheers

Re: Terraforming - What am I doing wrong?
Hi Paul,
Sorry, which Template folder, do you mean the TemplateRoutes folder in the file tree?
Geoff - I can't work out what it is then, I must have something in the wrong place in my RW file structures. Pleased you've managed to do it though and thanks for trying
I'll give it another go.
