Hawthorn 0-4-0 Emma, standing in for the Fawley Mountaineer, collects the passenger train and makes a steady descent to Pinewell Bottom, before charging back up the 1in13.

Might look at the trackwork properties, eg speed limit and bumpiness, but clearly some is already there

Hehe, I recently discovered McAlpine's Fawley Hill garden line is actually the steepest adhesion worked standard gauge line in the UK.

She seemed to stick at 5mph there if driven carefully. Going downhill it is wise to make a full brake application just before the wagons drop, and even then I set the reverser to full forward and apply plenty of steam.

This line provides the basis for my next trick, with the usual differences of fully equipped stations and a small colliery present.

To be authentic, at the very least, they have an 03 shunter and the usual 'passenger' train is a GWR open wagon and brake van. The actual steam locomotive is a Hudswell 0-6-0ST No31, owned by McAlpine and Sons since she was built in 1913.
