Very very nice indeed, well done

The amount of times I've stood in that spot at 2:09 and watched that exact scene made it a little spooky as well :-?

Have to say the sound changes and modifications really do bring the steamers to life and really do hope you considering producing a pack for us to use with Railworks, the sounds for the default 5 and other locomotives have been somewhat lacking for quite some time and really could do with a general overhaul to bring them up to standard with the new addons which come out with really decent soundsets.

There has always been alot of taboo about sound and addons, but when you listen to this modifications done to the steam locomotives, it brings the simulator just that bit closer to a experience of up close to the real thing, which is what everyone tries to go for and experience. Were not all fortunately to either work on preserved lines or be close to steam locomotives most of the year so bringing abit more the "real" to Railworks lets us experience that just abit closer to home and I must commend your efforts for doing so.

I hope with the comments and constructive critism you consider taking on board completing the soundset for the community, as its sorely something which is needed to bring that added bit of flavour to a steam engine plus the utter plateu of steam routes we have now and I long to also create personal experiences of when I was young and recent of steam engines powering out of Grosmont on the North Yorkshire route in Railworks.

So keep up the good work. :D

Seconded comments, glad the sounds worked fine, nice to finally hear a bit of Jinty bark (I may add on the occasion I captured 47327 she (he  ) was having to chuff hard and slowly - with 4 Mk1s and 08590 bringing up the rear  I thought she was actually being a Really Useful Engine :D )

Looking forward to experiencing the results of your efforts.

Thanks Pete. Feel free to ask me if you want some custom sounds put together for your 56xx!!

Thank you! Unfortunately I'm having problems with looping whistles. Its really difficult to get a good, clear whistle sounds without any other interfering sounds. What I'd like to do is use the B key to play a second whistle for variety. I can't work out how to do this at the moment!

Thanks crumplezone. I share your feelings on the sounds issue. Thats why I'm working on this! I want to bring MY railworks to life and if there's anything I can share then I will do so.

Cheers Stephen. I'd like to hear that recording! I have been struggling to get a good Jinty chuff from what you've sent me so far because of other steam sounds interfering. I need clear chuffs with little other noises! Hard to come by but vital to getting a good sound. Great thing about the Hall is that it's 'bark' tends to overide any other noise, so getting that hall chuff was childs play!!

Thanks all for your comments!!

Hi Matt

On its way are the three full recordings with 47327 facing the cam each time, one from Swanwick gantry and two from the station, the last was, I believe, the penultimate departure, hence the lonely 'toot toot'. After a fair bit of clickety-clack and around 60secs the 08 is heard, but on the last departure recording 47327 can be faintly made out opening up after passing the signalbox. She blows a final whistle on approaching the crossing.

I saw her previously (still blue, but face and number one removed) at the 2009 works weekend, and have two clips from Swanwick gantry, the first double headed with Sir Berkeley, so not quite sure which was working harder, however 47327 definitely whistles on approach. A later encounter at the same spot that day saw her working the goods solo, which I therefore prefer.

Shall I send you all these?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3W-Cdrb7AU

Skip to around a minute in for Sir Berkeley and 47327, and 8 minutes to see 47327 on the generous-looking goods.

I never put the August visit up as I did enough footage to last at least 30minutes

I don't know if anyone else would agree with me, but I think if you were to publish your edited sounds, it would be nice to have different patches for different aspects - i.e. chuffs/whistles, so that we can pick and choose.

I know it may be a pain, but I thought I'd make the suggestion anyway.

Hi Matt, Lets be honest, anything would sound better than the Default "Clank" (was it a recording of a Tin Can on a piece of string  ), it doesn't sound anything like a 'heavy' Rod clanking on its bearings. I had hoped that the RSC team would have addressed this themselves by now. :(

No no no it was not a tin can on a string. It was from a recording of the opening titles of Blackadder Goes Forth with Baldrick on the Triangle right at the end of the opening credits!

Sorry i did look for a video but to no avail. Those of you versed with will know what i mean. ;)
