It's not like making it work - with a specific loco - is difficult; Take HST blueprint, substitute half-power version of your paired engine sim blueprint, substitute new sound config with engine sounds removed, save & enjoy. Post RW3 or whatever they're calling it it can have it's own blueprint & work with anything, but for now we're limited to say:crumplezone wrote:I maybe suggesting heresy here, but you could always just leave the DVT without a cab and flag it ingame as rolling stock instead of a locomotive unit abit like how a brake van is for the kettles. Yes, yes, I know DVTs had the automated system which allowed them to drive from the cab, but I'm thinking from a practical point of view for Tankski, if he wishes to release it, as he said, decent enough quality for release and isn't so happy about aliasing a cab then that is another option.
Okies, I'll tie my hands an provide the oil so you can put me on the pyre now
But shouldn't it *technically* have no power whatsoever?Kariban wrote:It's not like making it work - with a specific loco - is difficult; Take HST blueprint, substitute half-power version of your paired engine sim blueprint, substitute new sound config with engine sounds removed, save & enjoy. * Mk3 DVT - 67
* Mk3 DVT - 86
and well... that's it, what else do we have that runs with them anyway
That's physically not possible I'm afraid, The way I understand RW to work is that if you had 2 locomotives in a consist (take the 0-4-0 shunter from IoW and Tornado), if the shunter was up front surely Tornado would have more power than the shunter? Case is that in the real world it does, but in RW the powered trailing locomotives that are in the consist have the same power as the leading locomotive, so if you were to whack a DVT on the end of a prototypical rake of Mk3s and an 86 on the rear, and the DVT has 3000bhp, the 86 would thus have 3000bhp too and the total consist power would be in the region of 6000bhp, which is a much more feasible way of doing it.msey0002 wrote:Is it not possible to give the DVT the lowest power value possible? Let's take a range from 0-100, with 100 being the most powerful, giving the DVT a 1, and like that it would feed off the power of the locomotive?
Oh, how I wish it was that easy...Kariban wrote:It's not like making it work - with a specific loco - is difficult; Take HST blueprint, substitute half-power version of your paired engine sim blueprint, substitute new sound config with engine sounds removed, save & enjoy.

Hmmm, good question. Could the DVT not be set up the same way? Although i did note in the write-up for the German driving trailers that the loco at the other end could not be driven, but i dont know wether or not this is because if it could be driven, RSC were effectively 'giving' us a free loco with the driving trailers!?bdy26 wrote:Lovely to see the DVT again. How have they set up the german driving trailers?
