Re: A Little Bit Of Atmosphere! 4
Oh lordy is someone making the West Highland Line or is that just a dummy shot from some other route? I've been waiting since RS day one for the WHL to make an appearance37075 wrote:Cracking shots, keep them coming.
37418 wakes the sleepy town of Spean Bridge, as it departs with the early morning tanks, up the 1 in 100 bank towards Fort William

You definitely got my attention there, Cameron, I don't know whether it was the amazing grubby class 37 or the fantastic looking route...

Here are some more shots from the Fort William outskirts. This time the line up to the aluminium smelter.

37406 reverses 7Y15 Coatbridge-Fort William into the sidings.

After reversing back down light engine it then heads back up to collect a rake of Alcan tanks.

It then hauls the rake of Alcan tanks down to Fort William Yard for onward movement the same evening.
Cheers,
Mark

Mate, this West Highland Line project is the most exciting news I've heard since the release of Railsimulator!!almark wrote:No dummies here
Before I migrated to the Westcountry I spent my entire childhood living right next to the West Highland Line in Helensburgh, to me it is the most magical railway in the country. Do you mind me asking what your planned scope of the project is? which section(s) of the line are you planning to create?

The first release will be the 9 miles from Fort William to Spean Bridge. The eventual target is Crianlarich. Possibly we will head to Oban but thats way ahead of ourselves. Track will only be included to Spean Bridge in V1. This is because I would rather spend time route building than putting track down, its almost as slow as the real thing putting the track down due to the up and down and switchback nature of the line.

Man, the Honeybourne line is more proof, bigger isn't always better. I love this little line.
