Hi Guys

Looks like the cunning plan worked, we now have a set of dynamic numbers, names and headcodes that cover the whole class of 74 loco's.... 32 digits in all

5 .. ...loco number eg D1026
19 ....for the name eg ##WESTERN#BULWARK##
4 ......to chose the size of nameplate eg a### or #b## or ##c# or ###d .. (compromise to get it down to 4 lengths of nameplate a shortest d longest)
4 ......for the headcode eg 1V29

all in the CSV
eg
0,0,D1066##WESTERN#PREFECT###b##1M78
0,0,D1073##WESTERN#BULWARK###b##1O19
0,0,D1002#WESTERN##EXPLORER###c#1V27
0,0,D1004#WESTERN##CRUSADER###c#1V32
0,0,D1005#WESTERN##VENTURER###c#1V44
0,0,D1006#WESTERN##STALWART###c#1A51
0,0,D1007#WESTERN##TALISMAN###c#1A62
0,0,D1015#WESTERN##CHAMPION###c#1A73
0,0,D1021#WESTERN##CAVALIER###c#1A14
0,0,D1022#WESTERN##SENTINAL###c#1A25
0,0,D1023#WESTERN##FUSILIER###c#1A36
0,0,D1024#WESTERN##HUNTSMAN###c#1M47

Too Complex ?
Another question should each livery only have the loco's in that actually carried that livery ? or include all for each livery

Look fine Paul. More than we could ask for really :D About the liveries; if you could incorporate that the liveries only include the loco's that actually carried a certain livery, that would be nice. But I guess, if too complex, a 'Readme' with loco numbers & liveries would work as well.

Paul

Looking very good.

Any chance that they could display the loco number in the headcode box, as they did in later days ?

How have you got on with sorting the gearbox

Wow. I am convinced that you are some kind of genius! :D

Beautiful set of locos, no matter what the colours, names or headcodes!

Nicely done mate, I do like a configurable numbering system
And nice work on the loco, looks fantastic - even without steam coming out of it

Just wondering what you guys think......

Looking at Brian's photograph, and then looking at Sly's screenshot, do you think the yellow end on his Western is just a shade tooooo mustard colour-ish ??

I'd say Sly has it just about right. The Westerns tended to get pretty grubby in later days and I think Sly's representation captures this very well

From what Sly has posted here it looks like you will be able to configure the headcode to display any 4 digit number/letter combination, which would allow us to show the loco number in the headcode box

Looking wonderful, really can't wait for this :D

I realise that this is a WIP shot, but as far as I'm aware none of the Westerns carried the maroon livery with full yellow end as seen second left
Also, D1015 for a short period had an unusual T-shaped yellow warning panel over Desert Ochre at one end only
Well, I know the shot is in preservation, but D1041 certainly has carried it as seen here - http://gallery72347.fotopic.net/p10546361.html as has D1062 http://photosbyrob.photosnaps.org.uk/p40927535.html
Also, could we have the no yellow end (but yellow buffer area) maroon please as seen here which was a mainline livery - http://dieselhydraulics.photos.gb.com/p62483786.html and here with a modern shot to show colours better http://merlinsgallery.fotopic.net/p48485325.html

Would have edited above post, forgot to say how great the loco looks and what a credit it is to your fine skills.

Quite possibly the best looking diesel locomotive I've seen in RailWorks to date!

Hi

Sly quite rightly picked me up very quickly on my error with this one - I was consulting a rather muddled livery table in a book

I too would like to see the full maroon with no warning panel version :D
