First attempt at creating anything in RW.

Post by Easilyconfused »

Many thanks to RSAdam for the help today when he put this together for me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Y7tsysqpnk

I never quite managed to follow it exactly but it got me going and now I am happy as a clam bashing wagons about in my yard. OK - so I got a bit carried away with the point work but it is just a bit of a play around.

After the revelation tonight that there are a bunch of tutorials on YouTube (thanks Darpor) things have been updated. The track in the yard has been relaid about 20 times today trying to get it to work. Now it does. Lots of little shunting engines are scurrying about.

The fun continues. I do love shunting puzzles. Somebody scattered wagons all over the yard for me to sort into consistent rakes.

Well I have got further in Railworks with some help from RSAdam and Darpor than I ever got in MSTS route editor.

How far I go depends a lot on my work situation since I am about to become "in between jobs". I do have options but having some fun with the Railworks editor has helped this weekend given the challenges this week is going to throw at me.

I'm glad that you're making progress John :)

If you ever decide to have a go at building your own route I'll give you one piece of advice if I may. That is to make sure that your track work is as accurate as you can get it first time. I have found that going back to alter things afterwards is a real nightmare, and is really not recommended at all. :D

Hi, is that rather nice open BR wagon (OBA?) in the left foreground in one of the wagon packs?
I've got everything off Steam but I don't remember having that fella.

Having had a shunt round with it, very nice enjoyable challenge.

I think those wagons come with the class 20 download I think, cant be 100% sure though.

I will hazard a guess it is that one then, from the UKWagonPack. :)
