Re: WIP Thread 2 - Anything new for RailWorks
Think you may have missed a trick here, Padster, chap: Ben started the Castle first (and a darned fine model it's looking to be) and only just recently revealed he's now got a King in the works, too. Seems like focus has been switched, for whatever reasons. I'm sure all will be revealed in good time.Padsterdood wrote:It is a shame that some people are already asking for a Castle despite the King still being under construction. Perhaps they need to learn some patience too.

Re: WIP Thread 2 - Anything new for RailWorks
Hello all,
Yes, indeed my focus has switched from the Castle to the King. The reason being the Castle model needs a complete rebuild because of the way I constructed it. Yes, it looks great but from a mapping and texturing point of view it's not so good. Being my first model it was a bit... errr... messy.
I slowly started to make a King in between the 4MT, 4MT Cab and Spam Can cab. I am doing the King first as I want to be able to release it quicker (I know how impatient you guys can be!
).
Anyway, expect to see 30 Kings, headboards, reporting numbers, many liveries, sounds and a cab...
Ben
PS Thank you everyone for your kind comments, they really are much appreciated. Without your continuing support and interest I think I would have given up by now!

RW enthusiasts should know by now that a rendered screenshot is a long way from production! As you are a RW debutant I was reserving judgment (and excitement) until we saw the Castle in game, but I think your 4MT is proof enough that you can deliver a full package.
Personally I'd rather see a Castle as that was a much bigger class and we already have Kev's excellent freeware King, but if you can produce the latter to the quality of your 4MT plus lots of variants and all the bells and whistles then I guess it will be hard to say No.

Hi all,
Just taken a render of the signalbox that I've been doing and thought I'd post a pic of it. Still a few things need doing but its kept me busy and off the streets.

Great job, Paul -- for your Paddington remodelling, I take it?

I'm liking that signalbox, very nice indeed!
Here are couple more renders of the King:
Here we see No. 6000 'King George V' wearing the Cornish Riviera Limited headboard and reporting numbers.

That looks absolutely magnificent young man, very well done. Just the thing for the South Devon Banks layout, glorious.
