Hi All,
I have been busy doing the S&D Modern, Apart from when im reskinning of course! Sorry for the lack of updates, I dont come on here alot.
Anyway, I've pretty much re-developed Templecombe, Ripped & replaced track, Re-laied the station & its features (It looks pretty much the same, But i notice the small differences), Gradient issues have been sorted, 99% Of my signalling is correct (there's just that 1 signal, everytime!), And the different ideas i've come up with have been tested, Built & checked. I have left one of them in, I will include a little cpation above each pic (like i do most times) to fully tell you whats going on & where "we" are in the picture. *There are quite alot of pics, So if you have a slow internet connection, I Suggest you go straight to my blog to get them, Im updating it now, So it should be ready in 20mins or so*. >> http://sdjrmodern.blogspot.com/ <<

Thanks Fred, 3 Years, Damn, I Havent got that much time, Shall have to do it extra fast, But you never know :D Might finish it just within that time!
Ok, Sorry for the mega time between updates, I Have 2 big announcments..
1. I Do live streaming (Generally daily) of the S&DJR Work, If you want to see it, Follow me blog & You will see the player appear as the latest post. If it says offline, I've either gone offline, THe cam is gathering bandwith form a server OR is just losing connection breifly.

2. Here's a huge update!

I Have been working on areas which...To be fair...Werent done well (on my behalf) and so i've simply ripped them up & started again. Im happy with the results so far, Just wish i could move on from Templecombe, Its driving me up the wall atm, I've spent around 8/9 possibly 10hours just working on it, And i've seen enough of it now! I will worry about the extension's when i finish the whole project, Or the whole of the actual S&D route anyway.

We're working back towards Templecombe here, I Had had more than enough of it yesterday!

Cow's, Inhabit this field, And birds...
Image

This is where the UKTS & RS.com Team's hang out on a weekend, Right by the railway, They dont get a moment's peace though, My hand accidentally slips (20times) Onto the horn going past! :D
Image

They even have thier own enterance pond! Very swanky!
Image

Some more fields here, Havent finished them yet, Need to tidy them up, Add weeds, Etc etc..
Image
(This field may...Disturbe frame-rates on lesser-powered PC's)
Image
Image
Image
Image

This area of track has been re-laid, Signalling has been re-fitted & Speed limit's have been re-done..
Image

A New housing estate (No supirse!) has been built on what was, Flat green grass land, The children used to play on it, But they cant anymore..
Image

Section of track has been pulled up & gone to single, This choice was made, Because terrain kept slipping onto the left hand track further up, Thats why the right hand has been conveted to 2 way running lines, And been moved right slightly.
Image

First Great Western's new depot, Although, I Say FGW's, What i actually mean is .. "Any TOC, Chuck your rubbish in there". It houses MK1, 2, HST's, Broken stock, Wagons, Locos, You name it, Its probably in there (And before you ask, No, not aliens or flying camels, or hairy squirles, Or anything like that!) :D
Image

This "Lower" depot has been tidy'ed up after many months of use.
Image

Network Rail themselves, Have moved from Bath, To Templecombe, Because of the sizeable shed & yards, Plus, Here they can have much bigger building, And they're right next to sainsburys...... Im jus' saying ..
Image
Image

Templecombe station is being pulled apart from the 4th or 5th time, Not happy with the mixed gradients leaving the mainline side (the far right), And i need to re-lay red brick walls stopping people from falling into the grass behind..
Image
Image

1 Of the many MANY new assets that will come with the route, Or reskinned ones anyway (On the left)
Image

Finally, Yes, Its... sainsburys! :D
Image
It's not open yet, But its newly built, Soon you'll see them chav kids with thier . saxo & corsa's covered in burby "bling" parked in the car park, Whatever next! :-?

Hopefully you got all the mild humorous jokes, If not, Dont worry, Some will get them, Some wont! Hopeing you do though ;)
Thanks, Oh, before i forget, I Will be live streaming today, Around 11am, Until about 2pm ish (Cause i have to go to a meeting at work, That will NOT be fun!)
Remember, If you want to watch the live-stream, Follow the link, And the player should...should appear in-front. If-not, Refresh & keep trying.

Now, this is not really intended as criticism, but more an educated guess... Now, being as the line is (was) in the area of what is now First Great Western, and the choice of First Great Western rolling stock and logos is probably also partially motivated by the fact that the included default stuff can be used, it is probably not too unrealistic that they'd be operating the route if it still existed, although isn't there also a possibility that it would have ended up under the South West Trains franchise (or whatever it is known as now)?
The project itself looks real good :) Keep up the good work!

Hi,

Thanks. Your absolutley right, It would be run by FGW. However, Seeing as i cant decide between SWT & FGW, I took the plundge & went with SWT. But, The plan is that both FGW & SWT will operate, As-well-as many TOC's (I.e DBS, XC, FL, etc etc). Thanks for your comment, Its apprichiated :D
I Will post an update soon, I've changed something & you probably wont recognise the area it was before....

Cheers.

Actually, what I meant was the opposite - that in the real world, the line would probably be operated by SWT if it was still in existence, although I can understand making it operated by First in-game, in order to facilitate the use of default equipment and scenery items.
