RW Route Crash?!
I have spent about 30 mins setting up a template for a fictional route I want to create with DEM data (Thanks Darren for helping me out).
I started building about an half an hour ago, laying some simple track and a few scenery items. I was messing about with a steam engine, getting to know how the coal/water fueling works, as id placed down a fuel point for water and coal. I came out of playing and went into the world editor, and clicked on the scenario tools tab. It asked me if I wanted to save any changes, I said yes. It then boots me out into the main menu. I then try to go back into the route, I go in, all the track is gone. I press play, it says the scenario couldn't load as the train I put down wasn't on any track, so I pressed edit, and it gave me an error and crashed the game. Now I cannot get into the route at all without it crashing:
Error: Expected a Network::cJunctionSave, got a Scenario_bc6ca206::ba88::4aac:bad8::f7a96227ccea
File: ../API\core/cFxException.h
LINE: 113
Its really strange, as somehow from changing from the route building tab to the scenario tools tab can somehow, boot me out of the game, remove all the track that I laid, then crash the game everytime I try to go back into the route?! Has anyone else had this problem? If so id like to hear what you did. Thanks
A confused and annoyed Jon.

Ahh right, Thanks for the reply Chris. Could you possibly tell me how I would go out to solving the problem, or getting the work back that I cannot access?

Re: RW Route Crash?!
Well a backup is the obvious choice, but try running logmate and send to me when you get the error.

Re: RW Route Crash?!
Forgot to make a backup, as I had just started and not done hours of work. What do I do with/How do I use LogMate, I just tried to launch RW with the LogMate box ticked, then it gave me an error saying it couldn't open the utility (another line 113 error?) and then it opened a LogMate program, then once RW launched it closed again.
Edit: I have found the LogMate icon in the bottom right corner of my screen

Re: RW Route Crash?!
Right I have deleted the route and started a fresh one. Hopefully this should attract some attention to people who have these problems or know how to help. This time Ill include screenies to show exactly what happens.
Ok I make the route with template Ive made.

Oh, the ground is blue and white, how strange. I tick both the RailSimulator developer boxes in Kuju then restart the game.

No change, still blue and white. So I make a default template test route.

The ground is green in this one.

I then go back into the route with my template. The ground is now green?!

Ok so I start building. Firstly I do the terrain, pressing T as I am using DEM data.

I then start to lay some simple track. (This does not reflect the work that I actually did)

So I try to click the scenario tab, to lay a loco down. Boots me to the main menu.
I select to edit my route in the main menu. Brings me back. I place a loco with a driver.

I then play and drive the loco.

Now I go out of the route, then back in again. Oh, wheres the track gone?

So I go into route building tools. Yet, the track still seems to be there?!

Ok

Finally, I restart the game. Blue ground again!

Ok, so it doesn't crash everytime I try to open my route, but I cant routebuild when the track dissapears every time I come out of the route and the ground goes from blue to green to blue, and the only way I can get it green is by creating a test route which is using a default template. Has anyone had anything relatively similar to this problem? Thanks.
Edit: Sorry the screenies are a bit small. Its not really the writing you need to see anyway.

Re: RW Route Crash?!
Try this before you open your route.
Open any standard route first.
Then close it.
Now enter your own route and all should be green.
This use to work with RS.
Not saying it's going to work, but it might.
I've not had this problem for a long time.
Cheers

Re: RW Route Crash?!
I'm having the same problem Valenta had in the beginning of this thread. I used RWDecal to get some satelite images to a route, put them out on the proper location and put out some track. Now, I used "no Ballast" as it was to be on a bridge, some of it. I create two parallel tracks and a switch. After adjusting gradients, I try to test a tad, but then the thing crashes, giving a message very similar to that of Valenta's. When I try to load that route again, the error keeps appearing.
I have tried looking over the integrity of the cache, and that's okay. I have also deleted all .paks, but it's still not working.

Re: RW Route Crash?!
Are you saving the route before going into scenario editor?
Just a thought that RW might not like having a scenario written for a route that's never been fully saved, if you see what I mean?
Just a thought.

Re: RW Route Crash?!
Rocangus, is the route loading? And if not, is it the "Expected a network" message?
If so, you need to locate and delete the "intialsave.bin" from the your contents folder in your program files.
From an earlier thread on the same problem.

Darpor wrote:This has absolutely nothing to do with the Steam update and is because the junction states have gone out of sync between saves.
In order to sort the problem, navigate to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Content\Routes and locate which route is causing the problem. In your route folder, find the scenario folder and delete the "initialSave.bin". This won't have any adverse effects for you but will make the route work again.

Re: RW Route Crash?!
I have saved the stuff before going into the scenario editor. It demands this more or less. It is the "expected a network" message and it pops up when I load the route. I shall try find that savebin file and trash it. It can't get worse than it is, I guess. And it's said to make it work, so... yeah, will give it a shot.

Re: RW Route Crash?!
You get a window similar to that if you miss some kind of asset in a route if you have forgotten to name the scenario. You can just press "Edit" and fix it without getting booted out.
Now the whole thing works perfectly! It was the initialsave.bin that messed the stuff up. However, in the Content folder, I can only find folders with long names that make no sense. How do I identify a route?

Re: RW Route Crash?!
The slow way - open each routes RouteProperties.xml and read the Display Name.Rocangus wrote:How do I identify a route?
The quick way - get RW Tools, and go to Route Building Tools/Check Routes and Scenarios - this lists each route by name and folder.

Re: RW Route Crash?!
Alternatively, go to package manager and in the left window, click "routes" and then tick the route you are trying to identify followed by the >>>> sign in the middle. This transfers the route to the right hand window. Then, in the right hand window, click the content and routes buttons and it will give you the code for your desired route.
