I'm sortof new to Railworks, well I just got a premium account here on UKTS so I can get some of the great activities and routes.
However i'm finding it difficult getting all the assets for routes, is there any guide or tool to make this less painful?
For example I grabbed the IOW network from UKTS and in the readme it lists assets, I understand the file ID's and I used them to find most of the items, however this seems so tedious considering you have to download them all seperately, then extract and somehow manage this mass of files, whether they need to be imported or just extracted to the Railworks directory.. I've found this rather tedious and hard to follow..
Is this the standard way of doing it or am I missing something?
I'm coming from the great ease of using Trainz since Trainz 1.3 to present where getting assets is extremely simple so maybe this is why I find Railworks and UKTS so painfully tedious and confusing...
Any guides, tools, tips or help on this matter?
Also how do you keep track of the assets you already have? I'm new to RW with regards to downloading freeware from UKTS so I hope this isn't too obvious...
Thanks
David

Hi David
The long and short of it is no, there isn't really an easier way, however, you will find it gets easier due to many routes using the same assets, so you'll find you'll need to download less and less assets as you go along because you'll already have them.
There is a bulk search facility on the UKTS file search page where you just need to list the File id numbers and it presents them all on one page however you've still got to download them individually.
There is a list available to show your downloads from UKTS on the main page.
Sign in as normal on the main page then on the left hand side, just below 'CD Ordering' there is a link 'My Downloads'.
When the page loads up there will be a list of what you've downloaded and an option to save it as a csv file which you can view with notepad.
Regards
Phil

For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it
