Graphics Quality

Post by RCH37401 »

Hi all

After looking at the track on WCML North and thinking my graphics weren't what they seemed from yesterday, I have tried to improve the quality.

But what I have actually done is brought the graphic quality down to what appears to be "sans" nHancer level.

I am re-downloading the nHancer RailWorks profile from Rik, but if that doesn't work, how will I be able to improve the quality?

I am running a nVidia GeForce 9800 GT (and am unsure if nHancer is functioning correctly).

When I used it without nHancer, the quality was poor but performance was rather good. I am after the quality, which is why I am concerned that I may have knackered it up!

Hope someone can help me.

Many thanks in advance

This probably is no help at all, but.... :D

In normal circumstances, I don't change anything, helps building performance or for driving etc. However, for screenshots (and I presume thats one of the reasons you want it for) I just right click on the desktop, choose the Nvidia Control Panel and "Use My Preference Emphasising: Quality". I also use AA at 16 both in the Nvidia Control Panel and Railworks options.

Hiya Darren

It is for screenshots, as well as normal RW bits like scenario creating and driving.

I have just changed the Global nVidia AA settings to 16x. I'll let you know what difference (if any), it makes.

Thanks mate

Doesn't appear to have made any difference, mate.

Just trying that tip for emphasising quality.

Sorry to be such a pain!

Thanks mate, that has improved it, at least.

I think I've been stupid but as long as that is set, I can fiddle with it to try and recover what it was like.

Call me what you like!

Cheers Darren

Hi Richard,
For the last 12 months or so I haven't used an Nvidia card, but believe that if you are using drivers 257.21 and above, nHancer doesn't work. It should be replaced by Nvidia Inspector, from here : http://download.orbmu2k.de/download.php?id=51

Apologies if I've got it wrong!

Cheers,
Ged
