Hi,
I'm trying to make the Carrer mode, Hagen to Siegen (Scenario Last Leg to Siegen) and I always get Operational error.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I read the Driver's manual. I'm trying to drive an Eletric Locomotive. I do exactly like the manual says. I don't go too fast, I don't apply brakes fast, so passenger comfort is ok, but in the middle of the railroad I got the Alert sign and then the train applies the Emergency brake out of nothing.
Once I was going out of the station, after waited for the passengers in and out, everything ok. I pressed TAB to go over a red sign, received the approval, and at 10 km/h the emergency brake were applied.
I seriously need a guide here. I tried that scenario several times. What can I possible be doing wrong?
Unfortunally I can't use simple control on career mode.
Must be something else i'm doing wrong. Do I need to horn while leaving the station?
Operational Error - What can it be?

[SOLVED] Re: Operational Error - What can it be?
Hi,
My problem is something called PZB (Punktförmige Zugbeeinflussung - Point Train Control).
Turns out that I just have to hit Q when the alert comes, in 8 seconds, or the emergency brakes will apply automatically.

Yes, one of the nasty things about PZB is that, unlike the British AWS, it doesn't make any noises to remind you about anything. It seems to stem from a different philosophy among the Germans.
The key to knowledge is not to rely on others to teach you it.
Re: Operational Error - What can it be?
It also makes a sound - take a look into the BR 101 or the BR 120.
I don't really know if it's correct that the BR 143 makes no sound and has only the warning light.

Actually I hear inside the cabine a guy saying Zugbeeinflussung, several times. But I usually drive outside so I didn't hear. You have 8 seconds to react against 2.7 seconds for the British one.Kromaatikse wrote:Yes, one of the nasty things about PZB is that, unlike the British AWS, it doesn't make any noises to remind you about anything. more infos about PZB: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punktf%C3% ... influssung
The implementation of PZB in railworks is much easier than in real life.

I think the voice only comes on when the system has already activated, ie. you already took too long to press the button. It isn't reminding you of anything, only explaining why you just headbutted the windscreen.douglascaixeta wrote:Actually I hear inside the cabine a guy saying Zugbeeinflussung, several times. Re: Operational Error - What can it be?
Before the Railworks 2 upgrade you used to get a exclaimation hazard sign (white triangle, red border) when the AWS needs attention or if you were overspeeding, very handy for when driving head out of window. However I have noticed that in Railworks 2 this hazard symbol no longer get displayed certainly for overspeeding anyway. I'll check next time I'm on Railworks to see if an AWS warining still produces this hazard symbol at the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
