RW-Tools problems

Post by StPancras »

I have a couple of issues with RW Tools. Firstly I cannot look at any rolling stock lists, I just get the following dialog box.

Secondly, I enter path information into the path boxes, and when I restart the program, the information is just gone. I have a license for this program. I have searched for information on this problem and cannot find anything.

Windows 7 or Vista? You need to set RW-Tools to Run as Administrator by right clicking on RW_Tools.exe.

Hi Dudley,

The instructions for building a Rolling-stock list are included on the Read_Me.txt file included with any of the update patches, look under v2.1.05 on the history and you will see:-

To compile an Index file, go to the Assets folder in the folder window, click the 'Rolling Stock Only' box and click 'Add to List' this will take quite a long time, but will add all your rolling stock to the grid. Then click the Save Index button and an index file named Index.csv will be added to your RW_Tools\Reports folder. This can be reloaded back into the grid with the 'Load Index' button.

2. As Alan has already advised, if using Windows 7 or Vista, RW_Tools must be run as Administrator, once you have the paths correctly set, you should see the path of RailWorks in the top border of the main RW_Tools screen. If it is not there, then the program will not work.

I'm not arguing (just explaining why I'm right).

Thanks very much, I am up and running. I can now investigate what stock I have.
