Can I download a route and run it without...

Hi guys,

Hopefully another quickie!

I'd like to download the Northern Lights route but have noticed a large amount of "required" stock. Some of which are from payware packages.
If I download the route will it be unplayable because of the missing stock? I'd only like to download and install the actual route itself if that's possible!?

I have nothing against any of the required repaints and addons, I just am rather picky about what I like to run and don't have all of the required payware items.

I appreciate any help!

The only things that can affect a route is the stock, and to a lesser degree, the scenery. However, having said that, if you have RW Tools you can alter the scenarios to run with stock you do have.

I do know that Mully has put an awful lot of work into this route, so best to download as much as you can.

There is an awful lot of Payware stuff incorporated in nearly all of the scenarios, it would take you ages to exchange everything for default and free stuff, but, not impossible, the error messages will pop up on any scenario where you have something missing, and checking everything with RW Tools beforehand will ensure you've nothing missing and I'm sure that the route would run OK as long as you have all of the scenery assets downloaded. There are some terrain decals missing, but, that shouldn't have any effect on the operational performance, mine runs just fine without them.

Have fun, it's definately worth it in the end.

But if you stick to the first "free roam" then that is only one scenario to deal with, or start one of your own.

Thanks guys. The student budget wont allow money to be spent on most of the addons! I also notice that I'd end up with a few duplicate items as JT were so kind to rebrand the author of the HST repaints included with Newcastle to York Modern!
Anywho...
I just wanted to check, I downloaded a route not so long ago with a free roam scenario which had items of stock placed on it which I didn't have, so the route didn't work from the off.

Sadly I don't have time to faff with Train Sims anymore!
