RailWorks Crashing....

Post by irishrail123 »

Hello Everyone
I've been working on my own imaginary Route but recently it keeps crashing. The screen goes all black (i can only see the small panel at the bottom of the screen where you edit the world, exit the route etc.) but i cannot press it, its frozen.
I get this error "The Instruction at "0x0491a4c0" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The Memory Could Not Be Written.
I dont have an idea how can i fix it and I'm very dissapointed as i was working on this route for a quite long and it was quite good. The last thing i remember putting was a 8side turntable...
Anyone got one of them before? anyone can help me somehow?
Thanks
Lukas

Hi

The dreaded TURNTABLE !!!!

The problem is probably only to do with your attempt to place the turntable. I am not sure what the current situation is, but way back at the beginning of Rail Simulator it was virtually impossible to place some of the turntables without a program crash.

I suggest you try another type of turntable as see how you get on with that.

As this is/was a well known problem, I have included the placing of a turntable in the Route Building Challenge tasks just to make it that more difficult.

Hi
Ah it must be the turntable then, now the problem is that I'm not able to remove it because once i start the route it freezes straight away.
Maybe I could delete the turntable from the game? is that possible somehow?
Cheers

Hi

If the World Editor padlock is undone then you should be able to go straight into the editor from the launch window by clicking on EDIT instead of PLAY and then get to it that way.

Does that work?

Hi

I am happy to hear that you have been able to get back into your route. The turntables are a great feature of Rail Simulator/RailWorks so chose another type and try again and eventually you will see that the trouble is worth it. There is something satisfying about watching a loco spinning slowly around on a turntable.
