X-Tracks on certain routes

Created by Okrasa Ghia as a set of extended track pieces designed to coincide with the default track that comes with MSTS, XTracks has become one of the most essential additions that you must have on your machine since most routes make use of it.

X-Tracks on certain routes

Post by mglock »

Am i abel to specify which routes X-Tracks will be used on, as i don't want to use it on the routes that don't require it, i.e WSR, because then Minehead yard is full of disc frames and no manual point changers

Cheers

Hi Michael,
As far as I know a route has to be built using X-Tracks. So if a route is built using the standard t-Section then that is what is used and I am sure the WSR is on standard t-Section.

My WSR is running quite happily using t-Section 42UK
Hope this helps.

Good luck
Doug

Hi Michael.

Yes Doug is right, it is the route builder who decides whether the route uses X-Tracks or not, you cannot run a route that requires X-Tracks without installing X-Tracks.

If the route does not use X-Tracks, it should run as normal, even if you have X-Tracks installed, X-Tracks will not have any effect on it, so you wouldn't need to disable X-Tracks, (even if you could) as it would have no effect.
Regards
Mark.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for confirming things. :D
It is not an area I "fiddle" with so I was not 100%. The info was gleaned from these forums over the years.

Good luck
Doug
