Only some stations on the District and Picc use the green\hazard stripe stopping marks. In the open sections of the Picc white diamond stopping marks are placed in the "four foot".

Darren/Doc, the way I've set up each station if you stop *just* past the barrier you should be able to look left (or right as may be) and see the OPO monitor and/or mirror. That position coincides with the MSTS station stopping mark, of which you see a count-down distance readout on the Stations display (F10?). I can usually stop with 0.1m without reference to this display, relying on the scenery visual cues. The driving guides for the stocks desribe the usual approach/stopping procedure and how to use the brakes effectively. Doc will shortly be reviewing the 73TS Operator's Guide for accuracy in this and other regards :) I *love* this train!
BTW, I received the Video125 PIcc DEV yesterday, so now I know what teh section from Acton to Northfields looks like. I already have the track/signal/gradient charts, so I may well extend the DL down there. Extending to N Ealing is likely too. The 'pipe' at Barrons Court already exists and may be extended to ECT.

Fun stuff! I gotta stop building trains and get back to route building soon...

The new 73 stock we are trying is fantastic. I'm even finding myself creating activities for the piccadilly route.
I would love to do the R stock cab next because as you said we already have the stock for that (No time consuming rebuilds allowed, you have to concentrate on your route Jimi.) and i'm sure it's based on the 1938 stock controllers. I've been actively trawling the web for any images and even ordered a book but both have proved fruitless. The lt museum at Acton Works had a full size R stock cab (or was it CO/CP) when i visited in May, real or mock i'm not sure but they were using it as a storage cupboard and was packed from floor to roof with boxes making photos impossible at the time. So if anyone knows where i can get some R stock cab pics please post. Thanks.
Darren.

Darren - have you investigated "The R Stock Story" by the venerable Piers Connor?

We're refering to the DL route here, right? I honestly had every intention of putting out something this summer (now almost gone). I got distracted somewhat with the 3 trains we've built (a fun break working with 2 great guys) and had some scenery problems, but am still actively working on it. And even more inspired by the Stocks we now have to run. But I do want to release something (likely unfinished in places) that I feel will be worth it. I'm not quite there yet. Plus I'd like to extend the Picc roads a little (inspired by the 73TS - you'll see why when you drive it). But, yes, I will put something worthwhile out by end-year as a present to the those who have faithfully followed progress for a very long time. I don't think it's ready for CD yet, but will discuss that with Matt. I'll have reduced ability for a short while starting next week due to upcoming surgery (nothing life threatening) as there'll be some recovery period. Once we get the 73TS released I'll be back on the route full-time (spare time permitting as always) and will resume posting progress shots. There's more to show right now, I've just been busy with the Stocks and haven't posted any route screenshots for a while.
Keep the faith. It seems there's a bunch of LUL stuff in development (the Circle, which has clearly grown in scope, the ELL, Picc V2, etc.). By end-year, I hope we'll all be spoilt for choice.

Thanks, Jimi

Jimi

Great news on the District Line CD - I cannot remember a route I have awaited with such eager anticipation - freeware, donationware or commercial!

Hope your op goes well and that you have a speedy recovery.

All best wishes

Yes, good luck with the op Jimi and a speedy recovery.
Thanks for the info Michael. The book is out of print but ordered it anyway from Amazon. Should make interesting reading even if no cab pics. I also ordered the 'COP Stock Story' as well out of interest. Cheers.

Ditto about the op, Jimi.

Darren: I reckon you'll need to look for it from a dealer, so unless you can get it s/h on Amazon Marketplace it would be worth looking elsewhere. If it's not on Ebay, try e.g. http://www.billhudsontransportbooks.co. ... 1text.html
or
http://www.yesrail.co.uk/yrc214-03.html

Alternatively - and you could actually start with this - try asking the LURS as they published it and may have some remainders: membership@lurs.org.uk

Afraid I don't have a copy myself!

Jimi, i'd like to add my voice to the rest and say good luck with the op.

Darren, i've been going through some of my books and have found 1 promo photo of an R stock cab I will scan it over the weekend and pm it to you, it's in 'From Steam to Silver' by J Graeme Bruce.
I'll look through my other books to see if I have anything else.

Glen.

I have a couple of pictures, albeit quite small, which show the drivers console area of both a CO/CP stock and an R stock. They are at

Thanks guys, you're being really helpful here. Looks very simular to the 1959 tube stock controllers. Reading the caption under the R Stock photo, the speedo was liquid going up a tube. Novel idea. How did that work.
