Nah - it's just a trick of the light  Nice to see a real Picc I/Op on the handle though, instead of those gentlemen who only occationally take an excursion to Sth Harrow :D (Apologies to my DL frends if you're reading - I know you're only trying to claim the territory back for the Green line).

DarrenCarter wrote:Hi Nick,
Thats the one big drawback of using Gmax to do a cab is that you have to use a screenshot of the finished cab with all its unrefined edges. There is no full screen preview as far as i know. I wonder if i could export it to MSTS as a shape then do a screenshot in the route editor to see if that makes a difference. I'll give it a go but i'll have to ace up all my textures and re-apply them first.
I belive Alt X is full screen mode ?, you can also apply anti alaising in the preferences roll out, but Gmax tends to use the system screen set up for antialaisng etc, depends what sort of video card you have or the set up pack you have but Radeon use the Catalyst control center where yo can set up all these features to give better renders. Cant explain more as l'm just out the door, but will if required.

Hope that helps

Thanks Michael, Ctrl X gives you full screen mode. I tried the anti-aliasing in Gmax but with no joy. I have the Radeon Catalyst Control Centre so i'll have a play with the settings on that and see if that makes a difference. Darren.

We're still working on it :o Both versions of the train are complete (trains, cabs, physics, etc.), except for finalizing the refurb passenger view and some tweaks to the sounds after a team review. Concensus is that we will ship 2 separate kits for the 'old' and 'refurb' trains. The refurb will contain all the new sounds, and the 'old' version will alias them. A combined kit was over 11MB, and we felt that was too large for folks with slower connections to download in one go.

Meanwhile, here's a view from the 'old' passenger saloon. Note the correct-era signage and car cards. Another great job from Richard. I could have shown what was on the seat next to you - but you'll have to discover that for yourself

I never thought I'd see the inside of an unrefurbished 73 stock again! Great work as ever!

Oh seeing those seats brings back memories. I remember when they were on the fleetline buses too. Look so much less tacky than the orange, yellow and black versions hehe

great screenshots as always. the detail you guys have put into everything we've seen so far on the district line is absolutely superb and well worth the wait

Here's some videos to give you an idea how the 73TS looks and sounds. They're hosted on PhotoBucket and play as Flash videos. You may be prompted to install a newer version of Flash. Sorry they're only 320 size - I created them as 640 WMV files.

73TS Refurb: http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y36/Dr ... Refurb.flv

We're about 1 week from release...

Very enjoyable indeed.

Out of interest, did unrefurbished 73TS have door-closing 'sirens'?

Also out of interest, before OPO did the guard have a buzzer or bell? I'm guessing the latter but can't remember it too well...

Before refurb there were no door chimes on the 73s. It was something that was added to stock built or refurbished after about 1990.
The signal that the guard gave the driver was indeed a bell.
Also just want to say what a wonderful job Jimi and the team have made of the 73s. Of course, they'll never be a match for the D stock  , but a wonderful job, which will certainly help to bring the Virtual District Line to life (especially as the D stock beats the 73 up the bank from Hammersmith :D

Excellent videos Jimi. Introductory train ride of the District Line . Are you going to put stop position marker boards ( the ones with the green line and arrows at each end ) on the platforms to give us something even more to aim for or does this route not use them in real life.
