1959 Tube Stock Cab

Post by DarrenCarter »

Hi Everybody,
This is the latest pic of the front view of the1959TS cab. This is more or less it for the front so any comments are welcome. Also i only have black & white photos so i'm not sure about the colours although Jimi and Richard tell me they are pretty close. BTW on the makers plate is it 'THE BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON COMPANY' as i cannot see the last word on any of my pictures. All the Best. Darren.

Another fine peice of work Darren, you've captured the cab well and I agree with the comments re the colours, The BTH plate would also have Rugby and England on it plus their logo.
I am enjoying the 38 cab and this will be another worthy addition to the London Underground fleet.

From an ex Motorman thanks again for your efforts.

Regards,

Glen.

UPDATE

Darren's almost done with the interior cab graphics, so I got to do some "assembly and test" at virtual Acton Works. As with the recent 38TS update, this update for the 59TS has new cab, controls, lights, physics, etc. and some tweaks to the outside 'paint', blinds, and so on. Here's a few screenshots from a test run this evening...

Hi Everybody,
I hope you don't hold it against me for destracting Jimi from his District Line route he has put alot of time and effort into getting these two cabviews up and running, but as for me i'm taking a rest now to do some decorating, sigh! but i will be going to Acton Depot Sunday week for the open day armed with camera and camcorder for future reference. Hope you all enjoy.

Decorating is a rest? :D Take a break Darren - you've earned one!

Another quick update - some details tweaked after getting feedback from some gentlemen who drove 'em...

Given how very few pics of the '59TS cabs seem to exist (and almost none in color) this came out good, I feel. Our thanks to those who shared their photos and expert knowledge.
Final physics tests done -- about to write the Motorman's Guide 8)

More soon, Jimi

Thanks Darren - I used the trick of parking next to some parallel objects and adjusting the view angle until my eyes didn't squint :D

Final pics before release. Not quite the Northern Line, but I needed a tunnel to play in (thanks to Fred Barbieri's F1 New York line). The front/rear destination blinds and set number reflect the last working of the 59TS.

Hi All,
The Virtual Acton Works team have decided to release the 59TS cab in two colours this being the second choice. Can any ex-59stock motormen verify if we have got the colours correct.
