LOL seriously, i fix one thing and then something else breaks, it's a juggling act :)

I've told it to force the server URL now so hopefully it'll be correct from now again :)

Just a little issue I'm experiencing with the site right now since the server move. I log in as per norm to the main site, then go on to the file library. This comes up with the usual page where I have to click "Apply Settings", to view MSTS files and such. However, now when I click "Apply Settings", the files will show up but it logs me out of the site....and when I log back in, I have to "Apply Settings"......a continuous circle getting nowhere. :(

No problems here, when logged in or out, either!
Jonathan, empty your browser cache before you try again!

I am having the same problem as Jonathon i.e. I cannot select or filter files without getting logged out.

I have emptied my browser cache as suggested, but it has made no difference.

Hope someone can help.

General rule I always apply is, if you ever get a page that doesn't look how you're expecting - press CTRL-F5 which will refresh it and see if it still gives you the wrong page, if after a couple of those it's still wrong then either something at your end really doesn't want to refresh it (e.g. if you're running some home internet security packages - so try disabling that temporarily to see if it helps) - OR the page really is wrong... and if nobody else is saying the page is wrong then it's unlikely (though certainly not impossible!).

Try the CTRL-F5 thing on the pages that show up incorrectly and let me know how you get on.

Still no joy Matt.

As soon as I select a Newest File I get logged out. No real problem here as I can log in again and access the file.

However, when searching the file library, I get logged out as soon as I choose a category or filter the files. Logging back in takes me back to the start again creating the continuous circle as described by Jonathon.

CTL-F5 seems to make no difference, and I have tried without AVG running, also deleted cookies, but still stuck.

Thanks for the help.

Mike and Jonathan - are you premium or non premium users?
Ive tried to replicate your problem with my premium account and it works fine. If I log in and then click on newest files, I can browse the list and then download without having to log in again. Likewise I can browse the file library, clicking randomly on stuff to download, and im always logged in.

If you are a premium user, check you have set uktrainsim.com as a trusted site and are allowing cookies. Delete your temporary internet files and cookies, close and restart your browser. If you are non premium maybe its just a problem there.

I am a premium member.

Have tried all the above suggestions, but still no luck.

I have deleted the uktrainsim.com cookie, but when I go back into the site I am told that there are already three cookies installed. Are there other cookies I am not deleting maybe?

Hi,
rockhopper wrote:
I've been trying to sign him up for a month's premium membership to try out the new server but I don't seem to be getting transferred to WorldPay to make any payment. I don't use WorldPay very often but I believe I should get something come up asking for my username/password to authorise payment. I made him wait until the server upgrade was completed but it seems that the payment part is not working yet!

Could someone please confirm if this is the case or if I'm just doing something wrong!

TIA

Just thought I'd let you know I successfully signed my son up for his premium membership last night, no problems with payment etc. and the membership activated virtually instantly.

Thanks for your efforts to get it working.

I just have to get him away from the PC now ;)

I removed all cookies (moved them into a different directory on a different hard disc) and still had no problems with UKTS! :-?
(Mucked up settings on some other sites though! )

Which browser are you using?

I must be doing something wrong again...

I've not experienced a single problem with anything during the server move. I'm presently using both Mozilla Firefox 3.0.6 and Google Chrome fairly indiscriminately with no trouble. Both are set to accept ALL cookies but to delete cookies on exit. Security is ZoneAlarm ISS and ForceField with the occasional scan of Ad-aware and Spy-bot S&D but I have literally not even noticed that the servers have been changed (not being a stop-watch freak I haven't timed page loading and downloads) although I am definitely on the new system according to the page rendering notice.

What am I doing wrong - or should that be 'right'?

I haven't had to do anything, either, and have had no problems!
When Matt was testing the new server, he mentioned DNS clients and in this thread wrote...
NeutronIC wrote:Restart your DNS client service and close down all browsers (or just reboot your machine) - and it should now work, <snip>Matt.
I didn't follow his instructions as both machines I use are on a network and I didn't want to mess that up and I wasn't having any problems.
My broadband account uses dynamic IP addresses. I wonder if a static IP address might be part of the problem?
